LOGISTICS OFFICER

Job Description

Purpose of the position:

The purpose of the position is to provide overall logistical support to the implementation of Water Futures Programme being funded by Climate Justice Fund. H/She will be responsible for coordinating transportation, processing requests, keeping inventory and attending to any other logistical issues at NO level in water points and sanitation points mapping in collaboration with partners at the district

Key Outputs/Responsibilities

Develop logistics along with support plans, budget requirements in collaboration with the District Water Development Officer for effective movement and communication of enumerators

Based on movement plan received from the district, calculate fuel requirement for transport of enumerators and request fuel from Admin

Work with the District Water Development Officer in making sure that all handed over fuel is fully requidated.

Maintain a consolidated record of all fuel used on weekly basis and report on the same to the Project Coordinator

Develop and execute tools and methodologies to enable effective implementation of logistic plans in collaboration with base flow ie distribution of air time, fuel distribution, motor cycle

Design and develop standard operating methods to manage logistics operations efficiently.

Develop reports on material and personnel movements and various operational logistics problems

Contribute to the writing of the project monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports.

Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

  • Minimum Qualification required: Degree in Logistics, Transport, Social Sciences, Business Administration or Procurement

  • Experience: At least 1 years total experience in logistics/ administration

  • Preferred:

  • Strong organizational, customer service skills.

  • Detail-oriented team players with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

  • Able to work with computers

  • strong technical skills ( helpful)

  • Excellent (written) documentation and verbal communication skills.

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment: 60% field based and 40% office based

  • Travel: 80%
