Finance Assistant – Global Centre, Kuala Lumpur

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The finance officer role serves as an assistant to the Head of Finance in performing the major financial accounting and regulatory compliance of the Global Centre Kuala Lumpur (GCKL) office. You will ensure the international organization has financial tools, information and reports to achieve desired results, and apply and ensure compliance with corporate finance policies and procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Accounting:

  • To prepare daily JEs,CDs and DVs to ensure accuracy and consistency.

  • To ensure cash book updated and payment vouchers reviewed.

  • Act as local administrator for Cashwyze funding system. Forecasting and requesting funding three months in advance.

  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation.

  • To verify dental, optical and medical claims have been updated and in line with Company policy.

  • To prepare monthly and year end closing reports in MS Excel.

  • To prepare and ensure monthly prepayments and accruals are in accordance with accounting policies.

  • To maintain fixed asset listing for GCKL office.

Chargebacks and SA Accruals:

  • To prepare and monitor the direct charge chargeback’s for WVIT activities as per TOR/SOW agreements.

  • Prepare PA creations for recurring or one offs to ensure amount is as per budget.

  • Prepare monthly chargeback reconciliation for WVIT cost centers.

  • Ensure chargeback is up to date as per budget.

Audit & Tax:

  • To assist senior in preparation audit and tax supporting documents before submission to relevant parties.

  • Preparation of audit and tax schedules.

  • To liaise and provide support where needed to external/internal auditors.

  • Assist in preparation of company taxation forms on a timely basis.

HR & Payroll:

  • Prepare monthly salary and statutory deductions computation.

  • Ensure payments to authority and employees on timely basis.

  • Monthly and yearly statutory forms to relevant authorities and employees. (ie. EA form & E form).

  • To coordinate the opening of bank account for new hire and preparation of the documents needed.

  • To facilitate and make payment for expat tax based on information provided by expat (when applicable).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance or equivalent to professional qualifications such as ACCA or higher qualification.

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a finance or accounting department of a multinational company Knowledge with Malaysia Accounting Standard regulations and requirement and International Financial Reporting Standards.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance or equivalent to professional qualifications such as ACCA or higher qualification.

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a finance or accounting department of a multinational company Knowledge with Malaysia Accounting Standard regulations and requirement and International Financial Reporting Standards.

  • Experience with US GAAP desired.

  • Ability to work independently and with a team with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organization skills required.
