Position: Research development coordinator
Reports to: Resilience program coordinator
Contract: Local (No relocation)
Purpose of the position:
The research development coordinator supervises and coordinates the research piece of the project in concertation with the projects team, World Vision Mali, resilience programs, WARO livelihood Senior Research Advisor Resilience and Livelihoods . He participates in developing research designs, data collection methods and strategies for data management. Coordinates multiple data collection efforts which may include other collaborating agencies or institutions. Follow up research subject implementation in the field
Write and edit technical reports and manuscripts for publication or presentation
In interaction with projects team, resilience & livelihood technical advisers (Mali, WARO, WV international, research institute) Identify research questions), that clearly describe research objectives and procedures necessary to test the hypotheses of the research project.
Draft and submit research protocols for review to better meet expectation of project team, resilience & livelihood technical advisers
In interaction with advisors, develop research designs, data collection methods and strategies for data management for review.
Design, create and revise research instruments as necessary to ensure quality data that correlates with research objectives.
Develop and manage interim reports for principal investigators, industry sponsors and institutional review board to ensure that each project is moving toward timely completion.
Liaison between the project team and funding agencies or significant parties for new project development.
Ensure that projects are executed successfully in the field and completed within time frames to meet research objectives.
Ensure smooth communication and reporting with project team, resilience and livelihood advisors regarding research actions
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
A degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, environmental sciences, agribusiness Management, or any other related discipline. Masters and above with experience in research is highly preferred.
At least 5years experience in designing, planning, implementing, supervising and reporting on integrated Livelihoods and/or resilience projects on environmental area
Must have both an extensive conceptual understanding of and demonstrated practical command for implementing program design, management and evaluation principals
He /she must also have solid public relations skills and be a strong team player
This position requires someone with good interpersonal and networking skills
Demonstrated success at developing strategic plans, partnerships and effective networks in the development and agricultural sectors.
