Systems Administrator

Job Description

Position :( 01) Systems Administrator

Reports to: ICT Manager

Location: Bamako

Purpose of the position:

Applications and database systems design, configuration, implementation and maintenance World Vision Mali

Major Responsibilities:

Design, configure and maintain information systems WV Mali. This will include, but not limited to Lotus Notes, Sun, mentoring systems, Active Directory, McAfee servers Mali.

Make sure all the hardware / software information are captured and updated in the database data and IT use to enforce license compliance and make recommendations for upgrades, replacements or divestitures (inventory).

Analyze problems of organization and operations in depth and provide depth and facilitate the development of effective and efficient automation systems with the result.

Analyze the evolution of the IT department and provide ideas for innovation. It can also serve as a basis for making recommendations to the IT Manager for the acquisition of new technologies and the development of existing ones.

Administer a comprehensive security system backup data to include backing up critical systems, the periodic change of passwords systems and the efficient distribution of antivirus / updates and upgrades spyware.

Administering the creation, operation, modification, and deletion of username and password of employees in the system (Active directory and Lotus notes);

Work with Internet service providers and GAC to ensure that WV Mali’s Internet and WAN connections are operating according to agreed service levels.

Provide technical support and timely resolution of problems related to the use of information and office applications WV Mali systems; Analyze, investigate and troubleshoot system issues reported by local users arising from the use of sponsorship and others systems;

Plan for and maintain a call tracking system that enables proper tracking of and rapid response to user calls

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

1. A first degree in the field of computer management / information.

2. 3 years of work experience in technology / information context of information systems, two of them spend the administration of information systems

3. Experience in Windows operating systems (servers and clients), an MCSE or CLP Lotus Notes and work would be an added advantage.

4. An understanding of the Lotus Notes platform and infrastructure that supports including ISP relations and remote user connectivity

5. Adaptability and flexibility

Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment: Office-based

  • Travel: 10% Domestic/international travel is required.

  • On call: 5%
