Position: (02) WASH Facilitators

Reports to: WASH in HCFs Project Coordinator

Location: Koro & Kolokani

*Contract: Local / No relocation

Purpose of the position:

Under the direct supervision of the WASH in HCFs project Coordinator, the WASH facilitator Ensures proper planning, execution, reporting and monitoring of planned activities in the field in targeted communities and CSCOMs. He provides needed support and advice to all field actors for project activities planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting. Working closely with CSCOMs, ASSACOs, Communes and Government technical staff at local level, the WASH facilitator coordinate the implementation of the full activities package for WASH FIT and other planned project models including BabyWASH, CQI and CVA. He/she is the main contact person for local partners involved in the project implementation.

Major Responsibilities:

Initiate and ensure overall supervision of the implementation of planned activities in targeted CSCOMs in Koro area

Facilitate access to WASH services to health care staff, patients and accompanying persons in targeted CSCOMs

- Ensure capacity building of the CSCOMs staff, patients on hygiene practices

- Ensure capacity building of ASACOs’ members for management of the water points and WASH services

- Ensure all field stakeholders involvement in project implementation

- Facilitate the adherence of beneficiary communities to the project objectives

Ensure WASH in HCFs activities’ planning and budgeting including WASH FIT, Baby WASH and CVA projects models.

Ensure data are regularly collected and uploaded to GIS system

Monitor WASH activities in targeted CSCOMs to achieve project objectives

Maintain a partnership with all the intervening actors in the field of WASH in HCFs

Submit monthly, quarterly report for his covered CSCOMs.

Fulfil any other task in line with the mission and vision of WV upon request from the project Coordinator, CS Manger, WASH senior manager or designate.

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

Minimum Qualification BAC+ 2 years in Hygiene and Sanitation, in Health or any related field.

Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in the field WASH

Preferred: Hygienist/ nurse/health agent, sanitation

Technical Skills & Abilities:

- To be able to live in rural environment

- Knowledge in data processing

- Capacity of reflection and fast comprehension

- Able to ride motor bike

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

Innovation skills

Communication skills

Knowledge of animation techniques

Opening of idea;

Ability to integrate the communities

Minimum 3 years of experience in WASH

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment: Office-based with frequent travel to the field

  • Travel: 10% Domestic travel is required.

  • On call: 5%
