Job Description

JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

Position: WASH Supervisor

Location: To be determined

*Contract: Local / No relocation

Purpose of the position:

To facilitate the access of rural communities to safe water and promote hygiene and sanitation in communities to prevent diseases related to water.

Major Responsibilities:

Facilitate community ownership of the project objectives

Reinforce the capacities of the members of WASH committees and communities leaders in management of the water points and WASH activities

Ensure the implementation of WASH activities in schools

Monitor and evaluate WASH activities in the communities to achieve project objectives

Mobilize and organize WASH committees for the implementation of WASH activities

Maintain a partnership with all the intervening actors in the field of WASH

Promote hygiene and sanitation in the communities

Facilitate the adherence of the communities to the project objectives

Equip schools and communities with Kits and WASH material

Sensitize and educate the communities in the field of WASH and the prevention of water related diseases

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

Minimum Qualification BAC+ 2 years in Hygiene and Sanitation, in Health or any related field.

Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in the field WASH

Preferred: Hygienist/ nurse/health agent, sanitation

Technical Skills & Abilities:

- To be able to live in rural environment

- Knowledge in data processing

- Capacity of reflection and fast comprehension

- Able to ride motor bike

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

Innovation skills

Communication skills

Knowledge of animation techniques

Opening of idea;

Ability to integrate the communities

Minimum 2 years of experience in WASH

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment: Office-based with frequent travel to the field

  • Travel: 10% Domestic travel is required.

  • On call: 5%
