Grant & PNS Acquisition Management


Operations & Quality Director as well as to its corresponding Regional Matrix Reporting Supervisor (RDU Director).


To provide tactical and operational leadership in the implementation of the grant fundraising strategy and GBPs, enhance NO capacity and positioning for acquiring and managing bi & multi-lateral grants and private funds, and meeting donor and WV accountability standards.


  1. Ensure that the NO GBP (Gam Business Plan) responds to WV Nicaragua`s National Strategy 2017/2021 and Technical Approaches.

  2. Grant and PNS performance: grow NO grant and PNS portfolio and achieve NO annual grant and PNS targets.

  3. Develop & implement grant and PNS acquisition & management business plans (G&PNS BPs)

  4. Lead, coordinate, & support proposal development processes:

  • Provide leadership to proposal-development processes – be focal point for coordination within NO & with other external actors (SOs, partners, etc.)

  • Develop w/Operations & Quality Director the proposal-development workplan and coordinate implementation

  • Ensure Operations & Quality Director has all inputs & conditions required for smooth proposal-development process

  • Organize proposal design workshops

  • Ensure proposal-development best practices are followed

  • Support proposal writing &/or budgeting if required

  1. Grant & PNS management & compliance

  • Ensure high Grant & PNS management standards (reporting, procurement, visibility, transfer of assets, audit, etc.) are understood & applied by NO

  • Ensure all Grant & PNS-funded projects comply with general & specific rules & regulations

  • Coordinate financial management compliance

  • Flag and escalate grant implementation risks to senior leadership

  • Ensure NOs are maintaining up-to-date grant financial and risk monitoring data

  • Ensure NO staff are adequately trained in grant management & compliance


EDUCATION:Master’s Degree in development studies, economics, business administration, sociology, anthropology, international relations, or any other relevant field of social science.

Experience: Five years grant acquisition & management.

Knowledge and skills: Development theory of change & practice, ODA donor landscape & trends, Networking, Partnership building & brokering, Proposal development, Budgeting & financial , tracking/reporting, Communication skills, Team work and collaborative skills, Conflict Resolution and Oral & written English Skills
