Position: Risk Manager

Localization: Niamey

Purpose of the position:

To provide assistance to leadership in developing and implementing WV Niger’s Risk Management Program that will contribute (through designing processes, policies and procedures to identify, assess and mitigate both internal and external threats) to the achievement of the organizations strategic goals and objectives.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Leads, facilitates, and advises all departments in assessing risks and designing risk management programs within their own departments.

  2. Co-ordinate the development and Maintenance of a Risk Register to prioritize specific risks to WV Niger Ministry and ensure that regular monitoring of risk is carried out by Management

  3. Document and ensure Communication of Key Risks to the leadership on Monthly and quarterly basis respectively, and determine that risk reduction recommendations have been tracked and implemented by management.

  4. Review and analyze projects’ performance regarding audit implementation and advise the National Director on areas which needs to be strengthened as far as accountability and integrity is concerned.

  5. Educates and trains the leadership, staff and implementing partners as to the risk management strategy, and their respective responsibilities in carrying out the risk management program.

  6. Provide professional leadership and work with Senior Management to contribute to the development and implementation of the organization’s risk management program in a manner that fulfills the mission and strategic goals of the organization.

Minimum Educational level required:

Bachelor’s Degree Finance/Accounting or any other related field desired.

Technical Skills & Abilities required:

  • Computer Skills (Excel, Sun system Software),

  • Excellent knowledge of programs/projects cycle management,

  • Good planning and organizational skills,

  • Abilities to maintain effective working relationships with all staffs and other key partners,

  • Good French and English capacities.

Experience: 5 years of experience with regards to the management of resources, finances, people, assets and good understanding of designing, planning, implementation, supervising and reporting on integrated development, relief and/or advocacy projects.

Preferred: 3 years’ experience as manager is preferred.
