Job Description

Position :( 01) People & Culture (P&C) Assistant

Reports to:People & Culture Coordinator

Location:Niamey

Position open to Niger Citizens and/or people already having a work permit in Niger

Purpose of the position:

To assist the People & Culture Coordinator in managing Human resources in the fulfillment of P&C strategic objectives.

Major Responsibilities:

Liaise with the P&C staff to insure the application of new policies and other changes occurred

Facilitates administration of staff leaves and various allowances including medical claims

Work with the P&C team to respond to partnership requests

Prepares and compile staff training needs as per performance appraisal results

Facilitates relationship between World Vision Niger (Management and Staff) and other social Institutions (such as CNSS, ANPE)

Provides advice to P&C Coordinator on legal matters if necessary in order to safeguard the organization’s interest in alignment with the internal policies and country’s law and regulations

Ensure the accuracy of staff data and update them in OurPeople

Timely produces and disseminates information on staff well-being issue

Any other duty assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

Minimum Educational level required: University Degree in Human Resources or Law

Experience: 2 years of experience in Human Resources

Preferred: Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or Law Sciences

Computer skills

Good planning and organizational skills

Good communications skills

Tact and diplomacy in dealing with staff-related to work environment needs

Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all staff

Fluent in French and working knowledge in English

Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment: Office-based with frequent travel to the field, ability to work with Travel: 10% Domestic/international travel is required.

  • On call: 5%
