PURPOSE OF POSITION:

To work with Christian communities to increase intolerance in Christian societies for child abuse and violence against children and women

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

ROLE DIMENSION / DESCRIPTION

Prioritize and Target

  • Work with External Engagement & Governance Manager and Operations leadership to design vulnerability criteria to prioritize evidence based interventions to support children and families from Christian communities;

  • Be responsible to identify priority Christian communities to work with in the geographic area of the various zones (in APs where possible and expanding beyond AP, but still in the area of the zone). These communities should be the most vulnerable Christian communities and families and be in alignment with where we will implement the workshop in a given year.

Time Spent: 20%

Relationship Building and External Engagement

  • Spend time in each zone to build relevant relations with prioritized Christian families. Be able to balance and prioritize, in partnership with zonal staff, across zones

  • Deepen relationship with relevant faith leaders in target communities and in alignment with the relevant national faith relations partnership cultivated by the national office

  • Create dialogue with local faith leaders, community members, traditional leaders, local authorities, services providers and other stakeholders around child protection issues and services that impact on the well-being of vulnerable children

  • Follow-up with local-level church partners to engender their active involvement in ITAW activities and to help them identify ways they can cascade out Celebrating Families to other church members without additional financial support from WV

  • . Implement Celebrating Families

  • Work with relevant trained facilitators and partners to provide workshops in each zone per year

  • Arrange logistics and associated PRs for accommodation, transportation and stationary of workshops

  • Establish and support ongoing family groups with participating families after the workshop and conduct bi-monthly visits to the participating households over 12 months.

  • Manage all expected outcomes, work with M&C officer to ensure monitoring and outcome level evidence is built, and provide all reporting for the zones for PNS reporting.

  • Work with Child Protection Lead to help identify faith-based schools for safeguarding activities.

Education

Degree in Religion studies, development or related field

Knowledge & Skills

Ability to coordinate projects, trainings, monitor activities and budgets, and coordinate evaluations.

Ability to write quality reports

Proficiency in MS Office

Excellent writing skills in English and Arabic

  • Committed to achieve quality results and service

  • Ability to conduct assessments surveys and writing its reports

  • Good experience in Project Cycle Management including, the development of project’s logical frame work and its components.

  • Excellent people and communication skills and ability to share skills, information and knowledge with others

  • Valid driving license

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ related experience in a NGOs or Faith based organizations

Work Environment

Willingness to be flexible with hours and able to travel across the West Bank up to 40% of the time and as required
