Faith, Strategy, Programming, & Impact Advisor
*Position to be based on home country of successful candidate in a jurisdiction within Africa or Asia where WVI is registered to operate.
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Facilitates and advises on the integration of Faith and Development (F&D) across the Partnership offices/sectors in and through WV’s strategies, programming, Design, Monitoring and Evaluation processes (DM&E), grant acquisition and research and dissemination of best practices and learnings.
Advises on the development, support and roll-out of metrics capturing the impact of WV’s faith and faith actors including metrics developed surrounding Child Well-Being Aspiration #3 (CWBA#3).
Works together with Horizon team to develop tools and processes that gather data regarding the impact and influence of F&D within the Partnership.
Collaborates with the F&D Manager of Strategic Solutions, in leading and overseeing the F&D Special Fund/ Innovation Fund.
Building Capacity for the Integration of F&D across the Partnership:
Develop metrics to guide and measure the integration of F&D within programmes to support the roll out of the CWBA#3 indicators and to capture of the impact of faith in other CWBOs. Come alongside and support the Partnership in the application of these especially in sensitive contexts. Utilising developed metrics to influence RO, NO and SO F&D staff toward the design and implementation of effective F&D integrated strategies and programmes that are DM&E and LEAP compliant.
Develop, test and build organisational capacity to implement contextually appropriate resources/training materials for F&D integration in programming and DM&E and for use across various contexts and audiences. Conduct relevant F&D and DM&E integration workshops and consultations.
Come alongside ROs/NOs in developing and rolling out processes, guidelines and resources for the integration of F&D in RO/NO strategies.
Develop and scale-up across the Partnership theological frameworks and reflections supporting faith integration in strategies, programmes and initiatives.
Come alongside ROs/NOs in the development of guidelines and action plans for missional practises in and across multi-faith and sensitive faith contexts.
Develop and publish secondary research on the role of F&D best practices based on both internal (NOs/ROs) and external resources. Ensuring that findings are shared internally via various communication channels (Connections, Executive Briefing, F&D Newsletters, F&D Community of Practise) and externally with donors.
Advise on F&D Integration:
Advise the Partnership in the process of integrating WV’s Christian faith and partnerships with faith actors in developing guidelines for developing project models, theories of change and in the use of the CWBA#3 objectives and indicators.
Advise the Partnership in integrating F&D into NOs/SOs and GC technical sector strategies toward meeting the CWBA/O’s and targets.
Advise the Partnership on F&D integration into Partnership-wide, RO and NO processes such as DM&E, LEAP3, DPA, grant acquisition, etc.
Manage the F&D Process Integration in Horizon and Analysis of Data:
Overseeing and withdrawing data for the Horizon.
Providing technical advice to all offices as requested related to use of the Horizon.
Provide orientation and capacity building related to F&D data managing and analysis.
Composing and sending follow-up communication to offices behind in the process.
Analysing data and recommending courses of action based on analysis. This includes: Producing reports on strengths, challenges and advice for points of growth and action for the Global National Office Dashboard, F&D Community of Practise, WVI’s senior leaders, the WVI Board, national/support offices, and the Partnership at large.
Support for F&D Resource Mobilisation and Grant Acquisition:
Liaising with WV’s Global Resource Development (GRD) team, to provide input when funding opportunities are available to support F&D work across the Partnership. This includes providing input for grant/proposals and funding opportunities and preparing reports on F&D activities and resource use to fulfil funding agencies’ reporting requirements.
Responding to inquiries from funding agencies as requested by GRD and providing input for grant proposals/funding opportunities and submitting input to GRD for submission to funding agencies.
Coordinate the RFP process (innovation fund) and review of reports for the WVI Board approved F&D Special Fund that funds F&D projects in regional and national offices.
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Master’s Degree or equivalent 5-10 years work experience in one of the following: organisational development, international development, business administration or related field.
Strong analytical and research abilities. Highly skilled in synthesising data and research into in-depth yet user-friendly reports.
Advanced skills in using Microsoft Office to research and prepare reports and to also extract and analyse data.
Thorough grasp of World Vision’s LEAP, DM&E standards and methodologies and how these can best be applied to strategy and programme development.
Thorough grasp of integrated programming approach and integration of faith and partnering with faith leaders in programming.
Advanced skills and experience in project planning, implementation, monitoring, assessment.
Proven high-quality skills in facilitating face-to-face learning events, as well as replicating trainings through mentoring/coaching potential facilitators/trainers.
Exemplary research, analysis and report writing skills with a strong ability to reflect and advise based on research conducted.
High quality oral and written communication skills through various mediums (print, electronic, PowerPoint, etc.)
Demonstrates Christ-centred life and work with deep personal commitment to Christ
Proven ability to influence, lead and develop potential in others.
Proven ability to speak, communicate, advise, influence and strategically integrate with people from different cultures, faiths, levels of leadership and across sectors and various levels of an organisation both interpersonally and corporately.
Experience in project and budget management.
Advanced knowledge of WV core documents, policies, procedures, and protocols and their appropriate application to the mission of World Vision.
Work experience with WV’s design, monitoring and evaluation methods and approaches.
5-7 years on designing, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of field programmes.
5-7 years effective development, use, revision and analysis of operational metrics to measure programme effectiveness for that which has happened in programmes.
5-7 years of experience working with data and research based tasks.
5-7 years of experience working cross-culturally/internationally.
Proven ability to network, collaborate and communicate clearly, concisely, diplomatically and persuasively with people in various positions and levels of a large organisation and contexts (i.e. various church denominations, faith traditions, and other cultures). Proven effectiveness in assisting diverse groups of people to achieve consensus.
Development Project management.
Fluent in written and spoken business and academic English.
Undergraduate or graduate degree in one of the following: Development, International development, Research Methodology.
Experience with basic database software (i.e. Microsoft Access).
Coursework completed in statistics.
Project management certification.
Ability to travel and adapt to different time zones.
This position will travel up to 35% of the work time per year.
This position requires the ability and willingness to lead/participate early morning/late evening calls.
