Accounting Operations Manager – Global Centre Manila

Job Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Accounting Operations Manager – GC Manila manages:

  • the financial, accounting and reporting of GCMO,

  • the coordination of the financial, accounting and reporting of the accounting team for Global Center (GC), and

  • financial review and monitor of the offsite locations (KL, Geneva, Costa Rica).

For GCMO, this includes the day to day accounting, annual statutory and tax audits as well as the local government and statutory requirements.

The Finance Team Leader has individuals reporting to him/her – see attached organization chart – Team Controller.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Relationship Management:

  • Provides co-ordination and partnership with corporate groups hosted in GCMO(e.g. IT, Sponsorship, Global Finance, P&C) for representation and fulfillment of Finance requirements.

Financial Accounting:

  • Leads the overall operations of cash account and funding needs.

  • Coordinates annual statutory and tax audits with external auditors.

  • Leads all key accounting systems, processes and controls.

  • Directs and manage the international and local staff.

  • Review and monitors the offsite location reporting.

  • Reviews and monitors regulatory reporting prepared by staff or as applicable. Establish controls to ensure accurate external reporting.

  • Coaches staff on risk control procedures by which risks are identified, prioritized, monitored and mitigated.

  • Monitor the safeguarding of assets and control/authorize operational spending and investment.

Budget & Forecasting:

  • Leads the yearly and multi-year planning and budget coordination and preparation.

  • Quarterly forecasting.

  • Variance reporting between actual and budget.

Strategic Management:

  • Develops strategic financial planning and internal controls that influence financial decisions.

  • Resource optimization.

Change Management:

  • Lead, directs project manage, consult and oversee and implement change over the accounting operations, which include business solutions and new initiatives, reporting and compliance.

Other:

  • To assist in other special projects as required by the Controller.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Masters or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Contracts, or related field or equivalent work experience.

  • Typically requires 5-7 years of IT, finance or contract management experience or other related experience in Accounting and Finance.

  • Supervisory experience required. Work experience in public accounting firm or nonprofit organization highly desired.

  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, as necessary.

  • Effective in written and verbal communication in English.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • CPA, CA or ACCA.

  • Ability to work in change management to improve the processes and efficiency of the accounting departments.
