Analyst, Grant Finance
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
This position is primarily responsible for monitoring grant data, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure accuracy and consistency of grant finance data across various systems in the partnership including but not limited to Horizon, OLAP/Datawarehouse. This involves preparing simple to moderately complex reports and analysis necessary to evaluate and present information.
This position will also devote a significant amount of time multilateral grants funded by World Food Programme and the Global Fund. The responsibilities include data validation, reconciliation, and development of analysis tools and templates necessary to develop reports and perform analysis to monitor reimbursement type of grants.
This position will assist the Lead Analyst-Grants Compliance on various grants compliance review and analysis, and is therefore, expected to apply medium-level technical and financial skills to review and interpret data, and grants policies and standards.
Ensure that grant data are updated, complete and consistent in all World Vision systems including but not limited to Horizon, PBAS, and OLAP. This involves coordinating and working with SOs, NOs & FRSC to achieve this end.
Review entries done in Horizon, PBAS and OLAP.
Analyse inconsistencies, discrepancies, and non-compliance. When there are errors, coordinate with proper stakeholders/persons in GC, SOs, ROs, NOs, and FRSC to inform and follow them up.
Prepare reports and inform stakeholders where there is non-compliance.
Having accurate and up-to-date grant information is critical to develop accurate and complete global grant reports and analysis.
Maintain the Financial Master Detailed Report related to the Food Programme.
Validate and reconcile information on the FPMG database (commodity summary) and PBAS (budget and commitments).
Submit financial data to FPMG for food aid reporting and monitoring.
Prepare reports and analysis on WFP income and expenditure.
Coordinate with NO on aging of reimbursable grants.
Ensure implementation and compliance with the policies, procedures and accounting standards on cash and voucher transfers, and reimbursable grant.
Provide feedback and inputs to grants finance policies in the Finance Manual.
This requires a thorough understanding and application of “by-reimbursement” grants accounting.
Work with NO, RO and Regional Grants Finance Managers/RFDs to validate the accuracy of Labour Distribution Reports (LDR) and LDR data in OurPeople.
Ensure and validate that there are no duplicate information in the LDR database.
Prepare reports and inform stakeholders where there is non-compliance on the LDR policy.
Put together statistics for the quarterly and yearly scorecards and reports.
Develop and/or maintain PowerPivot templates to generate specialized and moderately complex grant information.
Prepare regular grant reports and analysis on grants be needed by the Lead Analyst – Grants Compliance or other managers/directors.
Perform other duties as may be required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
University degree in business, finance or accountancy.
Has extensive knowledge and experience in all areas of finance and accounting.
Able to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization (verbally and in writing).
Excellent multi-tasking and organization skills.
Strong MS Excel skills.
At least 3 years of working experience with financial reporting and analysis.
At least 2 years of working experience with grants accounting and analysis.
Has extensive experience in preparing and analysing accounting and financial reports for internal and external clients.
CPA preferred but not required.
Technical/IT training experience.
MS Access and MS SharePoint skills and knowledge.
The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 5% of the time.
