Management Accountant- Field Allocations

Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

  • Process all field transactions related to budget allocations and funding commitments for World Vision Australia (WVA).

  • Complete reconciliations to prove accuracy of field transactions.

  • Complete donor reporting, mainly grant acquittals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for processing of WVA field commitments and allocations in the Partnership Budget and Actuals System (PBAS) database and in the WVA Field Allocations Ledger.

  • Accurately process fund allocations and commitments to new projects within KPIs.

  • Maintain integrity and timeliness of data in PBAS, including multiple year forecasts.

  • Assist with the year-end carry-forward process in accordance with the agreed policy.

  • Timely completion of month-end and year-end processes to ensure accurate information is provided to stakeholders.

  • Update donor promise field forecasts in WVA Field Allocations Ledger to enable field reporting and planning.

  • Acquire spending information from Field/Program Manager.

  • Calculate interest and foreign exchange effect on grant income.

  • Follow the required format for each grant.

  • Ensure deadlines for submissions are met.

  • Awareness of donor requirements and other relevant polices and codes of conduct that WVA must comply with for field related activities (WVI and external).

  • Maintain accurate records and transaction management.

  • Prepare external compliance reporting (e.g. donor acquittals).

  • Ensure compliance document development incorporates adequate time for manager review.

  • Anticipate compliance risks and raise to manager.

  • Undertake adhoc analysis and respond to information requests (field only).

  • Review all information for accuracy and usefulness.

  • Information is communicated in a clear and relevant manner to enable decision making.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline e.g. Business, Commerce, Finance.

  • Post Graduate qualification (CA/CPA).

  • Demonstrate knowledge of business principles and practices.

  • Computer literacy skills, MS Office Suite, finance systems.

  • Analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Transaction processing and account reconciliation.

  • Working in an accounting environment.

  • Working as a management accountant.

Preferred:

  • Ability to use SUNSystems accounting package.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Experience in international development or project accounting.

  • Effective in written and verbal communication in English.
