The Change and Programmes team is responsible for the efficient and effective use of technology and change management processes within the business. This new donor-funded role of Data Analyst will provide support to Operations, Social Performance, Products & Portfolio and Finance colleagues and Senior Management of VFI in the development of new reports, data analysis, data mining, interpretation of data coming out of reports, analyzing data using statistical techniques and generally serving VFI’s data and reporting needs.
Support for key stakeholders in the creation and development of regular and ad hoc reporting maximizing the use of the technology platform.
Tight integration with business planning, portfolio management and MFI capacity development to drive enhanced business impact and to ultimately support VF’s goal to impact more children through the development of the network.
Provide oversight in functional verticals (such as credit processes, savings, loan processing, delinquency management, etc.) of each MFI to ensure MFI operations are reported adequately.
Support stakeholders in ensuring that MFIs have the skills and competencies within business functions to use reports to maximum effect, and support them in skills training and capacity building so that they become more capable in data interpretation.
Responsible for the ownership, accountability and delivery of key reports and ad hoc data mining as determined with global management and stakeholders.
Looking at ways in which reporting opportunities exist to improve cross-regional efficiencies and performance.
Prepare regular portfolio analysis report for senior management in VFI.
Analyse data and provide actionable data in an easily understandable format.
Communication with/ Presentation to internal clients (webex):
Communicate initial strategy and the roll out plans as well as all other on-going reporting plans that affect the MFIs.
Develop others encouraging excitement and growth both in their careers but also in spiritual growth. This role is all about matrix management and influencing others often without line function responsibility. This matrix management is across the entire organisation from global management through to field operations staff.
Other Assignments as needed. Carry out additional responsibilities and projects as assigned, including administrative and planning functions.
Attend and participate in weekly chapel services and daily devotional meetings whenever possible.
Attend and participate in weekly meetings to ensure alignment of specific Theme with others within the Change scope. Interdependency of the Themes and implications across people, processes and platforms is critical to the overall success of the strategic processes.
Working with Vendors on requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree that focuses on Statistics
Experience using database software, particularly SQL Services & SQL Server Reporting Services.
High degree of experience with statistical package(s) e.g. SPSS, R, or Stata.
English fluency required. In addition, Spanish or French would be a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are crucial – being able to translate data into useful information and communicate that to end users is key
Expert in MS Excel.
Adept at critical thinking – a highly analytical mind. Proven ability to understand from multiple and sometimes contradictory patterns what is really the situation and in particular the likely trends and cause of that trend.

Work experience involving data analysis in a global or regional organization.
Proven ability to work quickly with data and present reports easily and clearly in different formats to fit the needs of different groups.
Expert in Microsoft Excel.
English fluency (Spanish/French a plus).
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Microsoft Azure proficiency would be preferred2.
Work experience in a multi-cultural environment with remote workers would be preferred.
Ideally will have worked in financial institution(s) (2-5 years).
Work experience involving the translation of data into useful information and communicating it to end users (ideally including the use of Webex).
The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time.
