Data System Admin Associate
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The position is responsible for the Back-End Administration and Maintenance of the Data Systems Initiatives primarily in installing, maintaining and upgrading of servers. Mainly responsible for ensuring that the FRSC Data Warehouse is updated, servers are backed up, and that the data is secure from unauthorized access. Assist and support the Data Systems Administrator in SQL Database setup and provide technical support to other project initiatives. Conduct research, testing and recommendations for other system tools to enhance system performance to continually satisfy clients requirements.
FRSC DataWarehouse Data Administration and Maintenance:
Data in FRSC Data Warehouse were uploaded and pre-validated as scheduled.
Data Owner were informed of any discrepancies/issues on the load file submitted for OLAP loading.
OLAP Users are updated on any data change in OLAP Cubes.
Maintain SSIS Data Loader for all cubes to ensure that it's capturing latest data from the source to destination.
Provide technical support in assigned data systems project (e.g. SQL, Service Desk, VPN, Server Migration and upgrade):
Assist Data Systems Administrator in setting up requirements for the project initiative:
Assists in data preparation and creation of required Cube Analysis.
Any issues, queries and concerns raised by the end-users were addressed within a reasonable amount of time.
Transition of projects from development to production were smoothly implemented.
Identify potential tools that will enable easy access to SQL/OLAP data.
Perform server maintenance procedures as scheduled and as required:
Regularly back-up database and solutions (SSAS) both in Production and Test server.
Create user profile in SQL Servers and in OLAP Cubes.
Ensure that both servers are running 24/7.
Coordinate issues/server problems with the Network administrator when necessary.
Install updates and applications to the server when needed.
Performs other related functions as may be necessary and delegated from time to time:
Other tasks assigned were completed without compromising existing assignment and other priorities.
Perform tasks assigned during Organizational activities in support to the FRSC group.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science and related course.
Knowledgeable in SQL Server Administration, RDBMS and OLAP Cubes.
Knowledge and experience in using Lotus Notes Applications2.
Knowledge in other Business Intelligence tools.
Knowledge in Financial Reporting tools.
Advanced Excel (Pivot, PowerPivot, PowerBI).
At least 2 years work experience working with SQL Server Administration 2005/2008.
At least 1 or 2 years work experience in server maintenance.
