Resilience & Livelihoods Sector Lead
World Vision International (Rwanda) is a child focused Christian humanitarian organization implementing development programs in 15 Districts of Rwanda.
World Vision seeks to hire a highly qualified, dedicated and experienced national for the position of Resilience & Livelihoods Sector Lead. This position will be based at Nyungwe luster Office in Nyamagabe, and reporting to the Cluster Manager
Purpose of the position:
To provide technical guidance to area Programs on the quality adaptation of the nutrition Technical Program for the attainment of child wellbeing.
Communicate World Vision’s Christian ethos and demonstrate a quality of spiritual life that is an example to others.
The major responsibilities:
Responsible for Resilience & Livelihoods project planning and implementation in the cluster area by preparing cluster designs in line with the Nutrition National Office Strategy
Liaise with the Resilience & Livelihoods TP Manager for quality implementation of Food Security and Livelihood projects
Mobilization of key partners and conducting trainings to build capacities on Resilience & Livelihoods program models and approaches
Identify and build strategic linkages, relations, collaborations and networks with partners and other stakeholders in implementation at the District level
Ensure cross cutting themes are adequately integrated in Area Programs detailed implementation plan
Work in collaboration with Child Development Officer to ensure that Registered Children and their households are participating and benefiting from Resilience & Livelihoods Program interventions.
Facilitate food security and nutrition integration at area Program level
Provide technical leadership for quality assessments, and development of Area Program Detailed Implementation Plans
Support the DME team in the development of Resilience & Livelihoods programs monitoring system, development and/or adaptation of tools and adoption of the tools
Ensure effective documentation of all the information related to Resilience & Livelihoods program successes, innovations and promising practices and disseminate through appropriate mechanisms.
Contribute to the writing of child wellbeing outcome monitoring reports
Produce timely, accurate, compliant and quality reports for WV and mandatory government reports
Resource mobilization and Networking
Contribute to the production, and review of concept papers and proposals for funding agencies
Establish and maintain partnerships with key nutrition related departments at sector and district level
Participate in National Office events.
Plus any other assignment given by line management or senior leadership
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
Minimum Qualification required:
Must have Bachelors’degree in Agriculture, Economics, Development, or Social Sciences. Post graduate training will be an added advantage
Must have a Motorcycle riding License
At least 5 years in Community Development with a major focus on Resilience & Livelihoods with an international NGO (or similar organization)
Agood understanding of the Rwanda multi-sectoral approach to eliminate malnutrition.
Technical Skills & Abilities:
Strong project management skills
Strong capacity building skills
Sound knowledge of the Rwanda nutrition programming context
Demonstrated ability to work in nutrition programs across Rwanda
Good interpersonal skills
Belief in World Vision’s vision, mission and core values
Proficient Project management Skills
Working Environment / Conditions:
Fully based in the field at the cluster level
