Regional Business Development Analyst


Position to be based in any South or East Asia countries


This position will assist Regional Business Development Director and South Asia and Pacific (SAP)National Offices(NO)in the following key areas:

-track and analyse donor opportunities

-analyse Grants Acquisition and Management (GAM) performance metrics, and support Regional Business Development Director in reporting to leadership

-support grant-related data availability and tracking (via Horizon and other databases)

-support the annual grant growth planning

-identify lessons learned and best practices in grant acquisition and management within WV- facilitate sharing these lessons and practices within SAP Grants community (Regional Office (RO)and NO Grants, Programmes, and Finance colleagues)

-support regional GAM in other surge capacity needs as required

Major Activities

Regional Business Development Reporting & Analysis:

  • Ensure and manage RO and NO GAM performance metrics are collected and analysed in relation to targets and external scanning (including Support Offices (SO)pipeline trackers e.g. WVUS tracker)

  • Provide analysis for SAP Regional Business Development Unit quarterly performance metrics reporting

  • Ensure systematic documentation of key Grant information in Horizon and other corporate databases (including “Go/No-Go Assessments”, proposal development collaterals, donor intelligence, meeting notes, filing quarterly grant reports etc)

  • As required, support donor and key stakeholder mapping exercises, donor trend monitoring, quality assurance learning, and grant landscape analysis at RO and NO level as required.

  • As required, provide other relevant and timely grant acquisition and management performance analysis in relation to current challenges and opportunities

NO Capacity Building in Analysis:

  • Support NOs to manage opportunity pipeline tracking planning (i.e. regional/country level donors mapping, strategic direction and areas of alignment, etc)

  • In line with Global Centre GAM, facilitate NOs’ use of a key grants database (Horizon or other) for performance monitoring and portfolio management in SAP region (includes past grant performance US, EU, DFID, JICA, Global Fund etc).

  • Support NOs to understand and use the Grants Risk Assessment Form to facilitate the Go/No Go Decision, in collaboration with Assistant Regional Finance Director

Regional Donor Intelligence:

  • Research, analyze, develop, and track relationships with new and current donors at regional level and share information with NOs.

  • Maintain an up-to-date record of the requirements of current potential regional donors and be proactive in identifying and sharing opportunities for SAP regional donors.

  • As required and in coordination with Regional Business Development Advisor, document intelligence related to the donor competitive landscape and potential funding opportunities at regional and national level, updating appropriate staff at NO to support the resource acquisition efforts.

Technical Support & Coordination:

  • Facilitate Regional “Go/No-Go Assessment” in collaboration with Regional Finance, and ensure quality and timely approvals.

  • Coordinate and communicate with Global Center (GC), RO, NOs on Grant Opportunity Tracking processes.

  • Provide Regional Business Development Director with administration and logistical support as needed.


  • bachelor or equivalent experience in analysis.

  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Able to extract data from MYPBAS and strong knowledge of databases (Horizon knowledge an advantage). Strong skills in Excel including use of Pivot tables.

  • Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail

  • Very strong organizational skills, able to be a self-starter and work effectively with remote-based teams

  • Facilitation & training skills

  • Good communication skills


  • Experience working in a not-for-profit or development background.

  • Administrative experience working within a team across a wide range time zones.
