World Vision Somalia Program wishes to invite applications from highly competent dynamic, self-driven and results oriented Somalia Residents to fill the following vacancy to be based in Dollow Office.

Finance Coordinator (Dollow)

The position holder will lead a field finance team to ensure the implementation of effective and accountable regional programs. The incumbent will spearhead financial planning to ensure cost-effective and efficient implementation. The position holder will develop and manage systems to ensure timely and accurate reporting of World Vision activities. The incumbent will plan and implement various risk analysis, implementing mitigation controls are required. Moreover, the position holder will promote coordination between support service teams and programs team promoting a spirit of joint-planning and accountability.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain financial and asset control systems to ensure effective and accountable implementation;

  • Spearhead budget planning and revision;

  • Develop and maintain systems to support timely, accurate financial reporting;

  • Spearhead awareness and compliance with finance and administrative policy and procedure with World Vision staff and implementing partners;

  • Provide technical back-stopping to World Vision staff and implementing partners, ensuring high-quality, accountable documentation;

  • Build the capacity of staff and partners to implement projects in an accountable manner;

  • With the assistances of Operations Manager, review, analyze and update risk mitigation plans;

  • Take lead in audit preparation, provision of responses and implementation of recommendation;

Spearhead Process Improvement within Finance department.

  • Ensure a gender perspective in the scope of work;

  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

  • Educational level required: Degree in Finance or Accounting

  • Experience: 4 to 5 years of experience of finance related experience;

  • Experience 2 to 4 years of finance related experience with World Vision;

  • Ability to articulate in written and spoken English at Intermediate level;

  • Ability to present financial data in a clear and coherent manner through use of EXCEL and other accounting software;

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment: Office-based with frequent travel to the field

  • Travel: 10% Domestic/international travel is required.

  • On call: Immediately
