World Vision Somalia Program wishes to invite applications from highly competent dynamic, self-driven and results oriented Somalia Residents to fill the following vacancy to be based in Dollow Office.

Finance Officer III-(Dollow)

The position holder will contribute to the implementation of effective and accountable financial and asset control systems. With the assistance of the Finance and Support Service Manager, the position holder will implement planning, tracking and reporting mechanisms which contribute to effective and accountable programs. The incumbent will provide technical backstopping to program teams, promoting adherence to World Vision’s Field Finance Manual for a host of routine financial transactions.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Promote awareness of World Vision policy and procedure;

  • With the assistance of FSS Manager, facilitate day-to-day finance transactions;

  • Maintain and analyze various finance/assets tracking tools, providing updates to FSS Manager as required;

  • Providing technical back-stopping to programs teams in the preparation of various finance documents;

  • Support in the preparation and updating of various budget planning documents;

  • Analyze existing practice and advice on improvements.

  • Contribute to the implementation of effective and accountable financial and asset control systems.

  • Contribute to the implementation of accountable, timely planning, tracking and reporting mechanisms.

  • Promote awareness of World Vision finance policy and procedure to ensure accountable implementation of World Vision programs.

Other Competencies/Attributes:

  • Demonstrates well-developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as negotiation skills

  • Must promote Finance policy and procedure, must “walk the talk” in terms of accountability

  • Ensure a gender perspective in the scope of work

  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting.

  • Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience;

  • Ability to articulate in written and spoken English;

  • Ability to present financial data in a clear and coherent manner;

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment: Office-based with frequent travel to the field

  • Travel: 10% Domestic/international travel is required.
