World Vision Somaliland Program wishes to invite applications from highly competent dynamic, self-driven and results oriented Somaliland Residents to fill the following vacancy to be based in Higlada.
Nutrition Store Keeper: Higlada
The purpose of the Nutrition store keeper is to manage food commodities received and stored in the nutrition food store in the Health centers and oversee the distribution of the food items to beneficiaries identified by the Nutrition team and received the appropriate ration card. The Nutrition store keeper will also compile commodity reports and shares with the head of Health center and Nutrition supervisor on timely manner. The Nutrition store keeper will also be responsible for monitoring the activities of the community nutrition workers.
Food and commodity management
Ensure that all commodities and food items received are properly stored in the warehouses
Ensure all the relevant documentations are signed when food is received and issued out.
Ensure all items in the store are kept on pallets and are properly organized
Ensure that all stock cards/ are updated every time food items are received and issued out
Ensure cleanliness, aeration and fumigation of the store to protect the food from getting spoiled
Ensure the safety of the food store and immediately report and issue in the store and loss of food
Assist and coordinate the implementation of WV Nutrition program
Ensure only beneficiaries with the correct ration card are receiving food as per the standard quantity
Ensure the beneficiaries have received the correct food ration in the correct quantity
Ensure that all beneficiaries correct information on how to prepare the food received and the next appointment
Reporting and data management
Ensure each beneficiary signed on the beneficiary list confirming receipt of food
Organize and file the beneficiary cards and other evidences of beneficiaries that are discharged from the program
Compile and submit monthly beneficiary list and way bill reports
Submit the project figures for the next month
Outreach and community based activities
Monitor the activities of the CNWs in the target area through regular meeting, review of their reports and monitoring of their activities
Organize and supervise community nutrition screening activities with CNWs and nutrition staff
Participate in the outreach food distribution activities
Support the CNWs in screening, IYCF counseling and other tasks
Participate in accountability and evaluation activities
Demonstrates well-developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as negotiation skills
Must adhere to set security standards
Ensure a gender perspective in the scope of work
Ability to work in and contribute to team building environment
Cross – cultural sensitivity, flexibility and emotional maturity
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
Educational level required: Diploma in Nutrition, Nursing, Public health, ware house management, or Development Studies.
Professional technical skill desired: Excellent organizational, negotiation skills and strong interpersonal skills.
Experience: Two years of experience working in health center or community in management of food or other store especially managing food or medical items.
Other: Proficient in the English language, and Somali local language.
Intermediate knowledge of computer is an added advantage.
