World Vision Somaliland Program wishes to invite applications from highly competent dynamic, self-driven and results oriented Somaliland Residents to fill the following vacancies to be based in Burao Office.
Gender Project Assistant II – Midwife (1 position)
Under the supervision of the Gender & Education & Protection Coordinator, the project Assistant will be responsible for the project implementation in Burao with frequent travel to the field. She will ensure that activities and reporting are completed within the allocated time frame, and in accordance with the project work plan. She will also ensure that the projects activities are well coordinated with relevant stakeholders and beneficiaries. She will work directly with Gender Officer & Education and Protection Coordinator, to identify fistula patients, make referrals and offer appropriate counseling after treatment in the Fistula project.

Carrying out Technical health training for community pertaining reproductive health in relation to Fistula
Participate in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual, progress reports as well as developing work plans.
Undertake home visits and hold meetings with community members in an effort to reach those who are unreachable and search for girls and women who have been affected psychologically by Fistula
Prepare timely and accurate reports./ prepare beneficiary success stories
Effective Monitoring and Evaluation
Monitoring and supervision of fistula survivors in the target villages.
Monitoring of activities progress on a regular basis and reporting to the Project Officer.
Participation in field level assessment and or evaluation of Programme
Coordination and Visibility
Ensure that World Vision is represented in coordination forums and review meetings at regional regional level.
Financial, Budget Controls
Assist the Project Coordinator to closely track the project budgetary expenditures as stipulated in the cash flows
Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Demonstrates well-developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as negotiation skills
Must adhere to set security standards
Ensure a gender perspective in the scope of work
Ability to work in and contribute to team building environment
Cross – cultural sensitivity, flexibility and emotional maturity
Ability to exhibit exemplary life style as interpreted in specific local cultural context
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
Educational level required: At least Diploma in Midwifery, Nursing, or other relevant fields.
Technical Training qualifications required: Psychosocial counselling skills and dealing with fistula patients
Experience: Two years of experience working in health center or private hospitals
Working knowledge of English and Fluency in Somali language.
Intermediate knowledge of computer is an added advantage
