Security Assistant II (Dollow)
Purpose of the position:
The position holder will assist the Operations Manager and Security Advisor to keep abreast of the security environment. Facilitate the planning of implementation of security training. To provide on-going support to Operations Manager in the promotion of security awareness. Assist the Operations Manager ensure compliance with Core Security Requirements, developing implementation plans for security enhancement, undertaking routine drills/trainings and controlling inventory and state-of-readiness of security assets.
Promote security awareness with staff;
With the assistance of Security Advisor, facilitate training of staff in security related issues;
Assist in the planning and implementation of security enhancement plans;
Provide security context information for a number of different reports;
Ensure security related materials are in place, in working order, their use understood by staff and that they are inventoried.
Monitors guard force performance.
Ensure up to date and relevant context monitoring/reporting.
Ensure a safe and security aware working environment.
Ensures awareness of Core Security Requirements and adherence to security related plans.
Ensures security related training is disseminated.
Demonstrates well-developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as negotiation skills
Must promoted and adhere to set security standards- must “walk the talk”
Ensure a gender perspective in the scope of work
Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
Educational level required: Secondary Education preferred;
Experience: 1 to 2 years of experience in a job that requires analysis and/or extensive interaction with government/security stakeholders;
Ability to articulate in written and spoken English
Working Environment / Conditions:
Work environment: Office-based with frequent travel to the field
Travel: 10% Domestic/international travel is required.
