The Somalia program wishes to invite applications from highly competent dynamic, self-driven and results oriented Somali National to fill the following vacancies. The successful candidates will be based in WV Baidoa Office.

Drugs Stores Assistant II – Baidoa

The position holder will implement effective stores management systems in adherence with policy and procedure. The incumbent will maintain tracking tools to help monitor stores levels. The positon holder will ensure quality control in the storage of goods. Will oversee the management of multiple stores.

Major Responsibilities:

Ensure accountable storage of goods:

  • Implement stores and inventory policies, procedures and regulations;

  • Ensure deliveries received in stores are maintained in in conformity with specifications and inventoried as per existing systems;

  • Maintain all World Vision Somalia stocks with the highest degree of integrity, honesty in the most transparent manner;

  • Manage office and team house consumables, ensuring optimum levels to support effect operations

Maintain stock tracking systems:

  • Develops and implements stock control system:

  • Stock cards updated on a regular basis;

  • Ensures cleanliness and orderliness of head office and sub-office warehouse facilities;

  • Updates monthly stock reports;

  • Maintains up-dated and comprehensive filing system is in place as per policy and procedures:

  • Waybills properly filed with necessary backup

  • Bills of lading

  • Certificate of donation

  • Commercial invoice and packing list;

Ensure quality and quantity control systems:

  • Cross-check all goods received in warehouse and raise GRN against Purchase Order as confirmation;

  • Confirm that all outgoing commodities have been authorized by appropriate management staff as per existing policy and procedure;

  • Proactively advises management with regards to the status of supplies (e.g. spoilage of food and/medical supplies);

  • Maintain perishables tracking sheet: desegregated by grant (e.g. drugs, food supplies, seeds);

  • Cleaning of stores to ensure pest control is effective;

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

  • Educational level required: Secondary Education

  • Technical Training qualifications required: Diploma in Stores Management or Public Health or Pharmacy

  • Experience: 2 years of experience in a similar job

  • Medical Training/Public health preferable.

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment: Field based under difficult and complex emergencies

  • Travel: The position will require significant amounts of time in the field (out of office) supporting project teams.

  • On call: 24hours.
