World Vision Somalia Program wishes to invite applications from highly competent dynamic, self-driven and results oriented Somalia Residents to fill the following vacancy to be based in Dollow Office.

Project Assistant I - GIK

Purpose of the Position:

The position holder will facilitate timely and transparent stores processes for GIK items. With guidance from his supervisor or delegate the incumbent will consolidate distribution plans, follow up the dispatch processes and provide regular updates as required by management for decision-making purposes. The position holder will monitor incoming GIK movement and ensure that on receipt, they are verified, and delivery documents signed off and filed. The incumbent will also ensure accountable and efficient warehouse systems.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate incoming GIK and ensure proper goods handling

  • Coordinate GIK meetings, share stock reports and GIK in pipeline and generate distribution plans

  • Ensure proper warehouse keeping standards are followed

  • Reporting

  • Ensure staff members have a good understanding of our GIK processes and systems

Other Competencies/Attributes:

  • Demonstrates well-developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as negotiation skills

  • Must promote Finance policy and procedure, must “walk the talk” in terms of accountability

  • Ensure a gender perspective in the scope of work

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

  • Educational level required: Degree in Supply Chain Management/Logistics or any other relevant degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management and Logistics with 2 years’ experience;

  • Experience: At least 2 years in a similar role;

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment: Office-based with frequent travel to the field
