Child Protection Manager (Greater Equatoria Zone)
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Project Manager will provide leadership and be responsible for the overall implementation of the project, including ensuring high quality, on-time, on-budget achievements of project activities. S/he will ensure that children targeted in the Project are cared for, protected, actively participating in the Protection related activities, and that the highest standards of quality, Code of Conduct and care are maintained.
Provide leadership to management, implementation and coordination of all project activities for a multi-subsector Protection project in Greater Equatoria and Upper Nile regions. Implementation of activities will include preparation and facilitation of key trainings in Child Protection, GBV Prevention & Response (non-clinical), and MRE, in collaboration with UNICEF and the Senior Protection Advisor.
Coordinate and lead the project startup workshops, baseline survey and end of Project Evaluation for the project as per project design and within the project implementation deadlines. Develop and manage the use of a timely, accurate Indicator Tracking Table.
Ensure the project is adequately staffed, overseeing recruitment of staff positions as per the approved project design and budget as necessary. Provide leadership and mentorship to project staff to ensure staff are able to implement project activities to a high degree of quality and in accordance with international minimum standards and best practices.
Manage all project expenditure, ensuring timely and accurate expenditure according to approved project budget. This should include development and use of a monthly spending plan, close monitoring of burn rate and mitigation of challenges that contribute to slow burn rate, development of timely and accurate cash flow requests, close coordination with Finance to ensure timely, accurate project financial reporting.
Prepare project documentation including weekly update to Zonal Manager, monthly project reports on implementation status, quarterly and final narrative reports as per donor requirements and sending them to Senior Protection Advisor, Program Officer and other relevant team members for review/further action within set deadlines.
Support field research, analysis and documentation of sector promising practices in collaboration with the Senior Protect Advisor, QA and communications as necessary.
Liaise with WVSS Grants division in tracking project expenditure, reviewing financial reports, and addressing queries related to expenditure in timely manager.
Carry out any other duties as delegated by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Demonstrated excellent track record in grant management for major government donors, required. Demonstrated experience in programme or project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and report writing, preferred.
Ability to work in high tension and high security risk situations and be able to adapt to rapidly changing contexts.
Experience and familiarity preparing and facilitating standard Child Protection, GBV Prevention & Response training packages (IASC); Familiarity with MRE preferred.
Experience in Family Tracing & Reunification programming and establishment of Child Friendly Spaces required.
Knowledge of and adherence to the Red Cross and NGO Code of Conduct and capability of incorporating standards in design, implementation and evaluation of relevant projects.
Able to maintain performance expectations in diverse cultural contexts, psychologically stressful environments and physical hardship conditions with limited resources.
Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills and detail-orientation.
Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).
Proven organizational skills and time management.
Must have a clear understanding of working of major donors.
Excellent computer skills, familiarity with MS Word, Lotus Notes, MS Excel and Power Point would be an added advantage.

The minimum educational level required is a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences; a Master’s degree is preferred.
Technical Training qualifications required in the following desired professional skills:
Financial Management (Non-Finance Managers)
Experience in child protection issues, SGBV and conflict mitigation required.
Experience: 4-5 years in relief and development work.
Field Based under difficult and complex emergencies.
On call: 24 hours.
