*Position is contigent upon funding and donor approval.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The purpose of this position is to provide management of the integrated emergency nutrition project( Nutrition , NFI and Protection ). The project manager will have responsibility for day to day implementation of project activities to achieve results-based outputs and outcomes, management of project budget to ensure timely expenditure compliant with donor regulations, oversight of the project team including field staff, and focal point for liaison with key stakeholders including UNICEF, WFP government and local authorities, relevant Clusters and other NGOs.

The Nutrition Project Manager position will oversee quality implementation of CMAM and IYCF but technical leadership for nutrition outcomes will be provided through operational support from a Nutrition Technical Advisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct oversight and day to day management of the project, ensuring achievement of project Outputs and Outcomes as related to improved nutrition and health service delivery.

  • Establish and maintain effective project management tools for implementation, work plan management, procurement, budget management and spending planning, quality assurance monitoring, beneficiary accountability, and programmatic and financial reporting.

  • Facilitate procurement of project material and supplies according to work plans and budget, including development and implementation of procurement and distribution plans.

  • Recruitment of project staff and their capacity building.

  • Ensure grant management compliance for the project in alignment with donor and WV International regulations.

  • Coordination with Nutrition Technical Advisor, Finance, Programs, Supply Chain Management/ Procurement, Quality Assurance (M&E), People & Culture (P&C) and Administration teams to ensure timely, high quality project implementation and management.

  • Develop and manage monthly spending plan, ensure timely expenditure and management of burn rate; Develop budget revision requests if necessary.

  • Oversight of CMAM Database and HMIS / health facility reporting.

  • Backstop representation role at Nutrition Cluster, and representation at other UN OCHA / Cluster coordination working groups or forums relevant to Health and Nutrition.

  • In an integrated approach , lead/coordinate teams for the nutrition, protection and NFI sectors in project implementation , reporting and accounting.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • University degree or qualification in food and nutrition, dietetics, food science or other related field.

  • 3-5 years proven experience in emergency programmes or social development with at least 2 years of that experience in management of nutrition project(s).

  • Strong project management background.

  • In-depth knowledge of IMAM/CMAM and IYCF.

  • Experience in working with clusters and UN agencies.

  • Experience in urban programming preferred.

  • Strong experience in managing staff, partners and facilitating capacity building.

  • Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).

  • Knowledge of Arabic communication skills an added advantage.

  • A high level of diplomacy and networking skills is required.

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment: Urban set up.

  • Travel: 10% domestic/international travels is required.

  • On call: Available for communication with partners and colleagues from diverse time zones as and when asked by the supervisor.
