SENIOR OFFICER – PLANNING & SUPPORT

Location: Based in Colombo with extensive travel

Job Profile

The Senior Officer Planning & Support will coordinate and provide support to both the Director Corporate Solutions (CS) and the overall Corporate Solutions department and contribute towards the consistent provision of high quality service & support to both internal & external stakeholders/departments/clients of World Vision Lanka (WVL).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate/ coordinate CS Department units for greater integration of work – facilitate development of Dept annual business plans, coordinate Dept monthly meetings, take minutes of meetings& follow up on actions, maintain the Dept common calendar & database and assist the CS Director & staff in the effective delivery of support services to all the relevant stake-holders

  • Ensures efficient flow of information to enable the CS Department and other WVL departments and ADP/AP’S to work effectively.Communicating accurate information in a timely manner.

  • Providing accurate and timely reports to Director - CS while maintaining confidentiality of same

  • Communicate effectively with all parties/stakeholder to ensure that program related activities are carried out and accomplished in a smooth manner.(Emailing, telephoning and personally meeting with relevant parties)

  • Ensure CS department meetings/ workshops etc. are carried out in a fruitful manner, coordinating required logistics & other requirements as needed

  • Provide administrative support to the Director Corporate Solutions – including but not limited to answering telephone calls, carrying out routine correspondence, making travel arrangements & assist with presentations etc.

  • Personal & spiritual development –Actively participates in daily devotions and maintains good work life balance.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • A Degree in Business Administration or equivalent qualification in any other related field.

  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a demanding environment and adapt to rapidly changing contexts and multi-tasking.

  • Knowledge & experience in logistic & finance management & related skills

  • Excellent oral & written communication skills in English(Trilingual preferred)

  • Excellent planning and organizing skills with ability to meet deadlines.

  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office package including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • A minimum of 01 years’ experience in a similar position

  • Good experience /knowledge in management, logistics, financial management and related fields
