VACANCY – COORDINATOR FAITH & DEVELOPMENT
Location – Colombo
Reporting to the Senior Manager Strategic Initiatives the position will work in the area of Faith & Development of World Vision Lanka, and develop, implement and monitor Spiritual formation and prayer mobilization programs that will effect greater Christ-centered and holistic transformation of the staff of WV Lanka. He/She will also
Model a high standard of Christian character and leadership at all times.
Facilitate creating and maintaining ethos and culture of WV organization that is consistent with our Mission Statement, Core Values, Statement of Faith, and ministry policy statements.
Coordinate all efforts in the spiritual formation of Colombo office staff and field staff, based on Faith & Development (F&D) Policies and Strategies.
Assist in the development, distribution and use of resource materials and books in the areas of spiritual growth of staff.
Coordinate F&D programs such as Chapel service, Bible studies, Spiritual Enrichment programmes, Prayer events, and other special spiritual activities as required.
Minister, field staffs who are isolated in remote locations and support them in providing opportunities for Spiritual formation/ development.
Encourage staff’s regular use of the Bible for their own self-development and in relation to their work; train staff in Bible studies.
Be concerned in maintaining unity and healthy working relationship among the staff.
Organize network of prayer groups, coordinate exchange of prayer reports and encourage prayer mobilization at field and national level.
Organize annual day of prayer and other thanks giving and prayer events as needed.
Coordinate Programes/capacity building for staff to integrate spiritual life and community development in line with WV core values
Timely Submission of accurate monthly, quarterly & annual reports & any other reports as required
Required qualifications, experience & competencies
G.C.E A/L, Diploma and or equivalent educational qualification.
Adequate educational and theological training and biblical understanding or other background education.
At least 5 years, proven Church/Christian ministry/ leadership experience.
At least 3 years field work experience.
Sound knowledge of the Bible and willingness to study and learn the scriptures on a regular basis.
Good knowledge of the humanitarian industry.
Knowledge of English and the local languages.
Be willing to travel at 40% of work time.
