VACANCY –COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR
Locations: Colombo with travel
The Communications Coordinator connects the donors to the needs of the communities and the change they make on the ground. He/she will package stories creatively in written, photo or video format to suit the audience keeping in line with the Ministry Goals of the Organisation. He/she will also work with the Communications team to develop and produce creative concepts for different visual material.
Travelling to the communities regularly to gather content that reflect the needs of the community as well as the impact created by WV’s work.
Producing high quality stories in written, photo and video formats for the Partnership and other stakeholders
Coming up with creative concepts for campaign and other communications material
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Excellent creative story writing, photography and Video storytelling skills
Ability to create concepts for visual material for campaigns and other communications
Bachelor’s Degree or an advanced Diploma in, media studies, journalism, mass Communication, English , or related field
Excellent oral and written (English) communications skills and proficiency in local languages ( Sinhala /Tamil)
Knowledge of social media platforms
High level of awareness of global and regional socio-economic, political and environmental issues
·Spend 40 - 50% of the time in the field to gather resources
·Be able and willing to work flexible/late hours when necessary
·Ability to be deployed to the field at short notice (especially during a disaster response)
