VACANCY - DEVELOPMENT FACILITATOR
Location: To be based in Kalpitiya with extensive travel
The Development Facilitator is a key person within the local World Vision program staff team, and serves as the primary link between the communities, local partners, the program team, and the sponsorship and technical specialists.
The main focus of the Development Facilitator’s work is to identify local partners, assess and build their capacity, and empower them together with community members to improve the well-being of children, especially the most vulnerable –serving as a catalyst, partnership broker & facilitating the emergence and strengthening of community-led initiatives of improvement and sustainability.
Required key qualifications, experience & competencies
Degree in Social Sciences or a related field.
At least three years’ previous relevant experience, including at least one year of development facilitation in and with communities
Strong facilitation skills, including catalysing, connecting, and building the capacity of community groups
Excellent communication & report writing skills in English & Sinhala. Tamil is preferred.
Competency in the use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Power Point
Resourcefulness, adaptability, and flexibility
