Location – To be based in Neluwa (Galle District)

Job Profile

Ideal candidate should support the overall financial management of the Area Development Program (ADP) & all Projects in the ADP in the preparation of periodical financial reports accurately, assisting procurement, monitoring budgets etc, maximising effective & efficient use of the computer based Accounting Information Systems & tools operative within World Vision. He/She will be the main point of contact on financial matters of the Area Development Program & its Projects and also should ensure stewardship and accountability of financial operations. Also

  • Ensure accurate, complete and timely processing of data done with proper authorization of all financial transactions relating to the ADP & its Projects

  • Provide financial/administrative support to ensure high quality, accuracy and consistency of work in program/project implementation.

  • Ensure that the day to day operational procedures in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, audit etc., are conducted in a timely manner and in line with WVL Policy and Procedure.

  • Assist the ADP Manager & Project Managers, in planning and developing project budget in line with the ADPs Plan of Action.

  • Provide financial & analytical reports /information useful for decision makers , as and when required in line with organisational requirements and grant/project schedules/guidelines

Required qualifications, experience & competencies

  • University degree in Finance or Accounting OR Part qualification in a recognised professional accounting body,

  • 3 years’ experience in finance/accounting in a similar capacity preferably with exposure operating computer-based Accounting Information systems.

  • Thorough knowledge of computer applications including MS Office with good knowledge of MS Excel and Database applications. Experience in Sun System will be an advantage

  • Good oral and written communication skills in English and Sinhala

  • Thorough and demonstrated knowledge in accounting principles and financial system;

  • Good analytical and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision
