Accounts Assistant - EU Housing Batticaloa

World Vision Lanka (WVL) seeks to recruit project staff to implement the flanking measure component of an EU funded housing program (Homes not Houses: Building sustainable future together) in the specified project locations according to the terms and conditions of the grant agreement signed under this project.. WVL is one of the co- applicants of this project and will work in close collaboration with and report to the Habitat for Humanity International, Slovakia and Habitat for Humanity in Sri Lanka.
Accounts Assistant- EU Housing Project
Locations: To be based in Batticaloa with travel to the targeted field offices
The Accounts Assistant will perform a variety of regular and recurring accounting functions, including establishing accounting records and maintaining the general books of accounts, assist in the procurement of goods and services as required while ensuring adherence to world vision policies and government regulations. In addition he/she will also:
Assist the Field Accountant to carryout day to day finance activities to ensure the smooth functioning of the Project operations
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of vouchers
Assist the Field Accountant to prepare the financial reports, cover memo, advances & payable aging analysis, update the asset register, perform the bank reconciliation etc.,
Ensure fundamental finance policies and procedures are in place as per the instructions given by the Accountant.
Required qualifications, experience & competencies
Part qualification of AAT or similar qualification
At least one year of financial experience in a similar capacity
Experience in using Microsoft office, with good knowledge of MS Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
Good oral and written communication skills in English and Tamil
