AGRICULTURE EXTENSION OFFICER
Locations –Rideemaliyadda (Badulla), with extensive field travel
This position will coordinate and assist the field level activities on Sustainable Integrated Agriculture Development of World Vision Lanka Perma Culture & Food Security Projects. He / She will organize farmer groups and conduct training programs, work with farming leaders, farmers, project staff and ADP staff. Building skills & providing technical input in the methods and procedures proven to achieve program objectives also will be the responsibility of the incumbent.
Required key qualifications, experience & competencies
A Diploma in Agriculture (University Degree preferred)
At least 02 years’experience & knowledge in the Community Development and Agriculture Extension –especially in grass-root development is preferred
Good contextual knowledge of local issues, community priorities, social & cultural constraints and demonstrated ability to effectively operate within its context
Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Sinhala/Tamil.
Excellent Computer skills in MS office applications
Good Interpersonal skills and able to work in a team and be prepared to train the others
