PEOPLE & CULTURE – GENERALIST
Location: Colombo with travel to the field
To coordinate and provide Human Resource (HR) related administrative services, interacting closely with the People & Culture Practitioners, Hiring Managers, the Staff Team and the HR Business Partner Community to contribute to the effective delivery of staffing solutions to World Vision Lanka (WVL) & its programs.
Work with the Hiring Managers & provide required guidance and support in meeting their staffing needs, Work Force Planning & related requirements in line with organizational goals and objectives.
Ensure staff orientation & on-boarding of all new recruits are conducted in a timely manner and stay actively involved with the new hire until the completion of the probationary period
Assist in coaching and guiding Hiring Managers & staff in the effective use of all HR related systems and tools of WVL
Maintain & update accurate employee data in a timely manner in WVL standard data-base/Systems including “Our People” and provide reports/information for the management as and when required
Maintain current knowledge of local legislation/regulation related to HR, review/revise existing policies as required & assist in the implementation and interpretation of standard HR Policies/Procedures of WVL,
Support an effective Performance Management process - building and developing people management capability of the staff & effectively driving an engaged and high performance culture
Responsible for all HR related administrative work (e.g. maintain personnel files, leave & attendance, EPF & ETF regulatory compliance, staff medical claims, exit interviews & related functions.)
Pursue active and continuous engagement with staff at all levels and be a positive influence in enhancing staff engagement in meeting organizational goals and objectives
Handle staff grievances, disciplinary inquiries and the voluntary separation process including exit interviews.
Education, Knowledge & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in HR/ Management/ Administration or related Professional Qualification
At least two years’ work experience in similar capacity having a good knowledge and understanding of Human Resource systems.
Good Communication skills both written and oral (English, Sinhala and/or Tamil)
Experience in handling employment inquiry’s and staff disciplinary/labour tribunal matters
Strong relationship management with ability to influence skills to ensure people and business practices are aligned
Experience in Budge preparation and compensation/remuneration management
Adaptable, flexible, a team player with a knack to influence and build relationships
Competent in the use of Microsoft Office computer programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
