OFFICER – KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT & LEARNING
Location: Colombo with 40% travel
Provides advice through coordinating knowledge management of WV Lanka by gathering best practice materials:
Guide for program development in order to facilitate intentional learning, evidence building around innovation development and best practice adaption to improve the quality and outcomes of programs and projects to better contribute to sustainable well-being of children
Establishment of functional knowledge management systems and processes to ensure cross programming, cross sectorial learning and development is expected from this role.
Major Responsibilities & Key deliverables
Develop organizational, departmental and cross-departmental systems and processes to ensure an effective and integrated approach to identifying, capturing, evaluating, retrieving and sharing of knowledge
Availability of a knowledge management system
Functionality of KM system (organizational and programmatic) which provide information on regular basis across organization
Establish a system for synthesizing lessons from annual and semi- annual reports, (AP and TP reports), CBW report evaluation reports and ways of incorporating lessons into programming
Coordinate the timely settlement of bills with the Admin Support staff ensuring uninterrupted supply of utilities and outsourced services of WVL
Facilitate sharing of information and best practices internally within WVL , facilitating flow of external knowledge to technical sectors
· Information/ knowledge sharing events organized and facilitated
Best practices identified and document
WV Lanka KM products are shared across relevant CoPs
Facilitate knowledge Acquisition & build capacity
Communication materials developed and shared among internal and external audience.
Capacity Development Plan in place for KM
Knowledge Management Plan in place
External engagement and leverage knowledge
External collaborations/ partnerships, identified and established related to KM
Knowledge sharing events represented and disseminated the WV Lanka KM products
Education, Knowledge & Experience
A Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, International Development Studies, Community Development or any relevant professional qualification with an independent research work demonstrating the capacity for critical analysis and application of specialist knowledge.
At least 05 years’ experience in KM of multi-funding development programs and projects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Sinhala or Tamil.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Good contextual knowledge of local issues, community priorities and social and cultural constraints and realities
Ability to recognize, capture and manage KM resources and learning effectively
Excellent knowledge about research philosophies, principles, statistical definitions, scientific tool and techniques
Ability to design and execute a facilitation process with appropriate and relevant facilitation tools
A satisfactory knowledge & understanding of Planning Monitoring and Evaluation Processes
Ability to use KM resources and tools effectively
Ability to get consensus and collaboration across many business units; ability to explain complex concepts in layman's language
Expert knowledge of information presentation techniques (graphing, charting, tabling etc.) and interpreting them
Ability to train diverse participants with integrity respect and humility
Expert data handling skills (classification, categorizing, tabulation etc.) and demonstrates diligence in data management
Evidence of understanding, and commitment to WV's Ministry Framework, the vision, mission, core values and guiding principles
Excellent Computer skills in MS office, SPSS, Epi info and other statistical packages
High level communications skills
Ability to build positive relationships in a cross cultural environment
