DIRECTOR – CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS, INNOVATION & PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT
Location: To be based in Colombo with travel
The position will provide leadership in raising the profile of the WV Lanka as a leading NGO in raising concerns on child focused issues through policy advocacy and communication that will bridge both support offices and communities. It aims to raise the image of WV Lanka as a leading NGO in eradicating poverty in Sri Lanka through collaborative effort with the government and other civil society groups. It will also work hand in hand with field operations to raise awareness in facilitating grassroots campaign against unjust practices and structures. This position will also provide leadership in Corporate Partnerships, Innovation & Public Engagement to contribute to help diversify and strengthen WV Sri Lanka’s funding sources to achieve its strategic targets, strengthen its impact and achieve its vision. This position will also provide strategic leadership in the development and implementation of Local fund-raising strategies and engaging publics.
The Corporate Partnerships, Innovation, & Public Engagement Group brings together several key support functions, and includes, integrated advocacy ministry, External Relations with Corporates, Government and the Non-Government sector, Communications and Public Relations. As part of the Senior Management Team, the Group Director for Corporate Partnerships, Innovation & Public Engagement will develop appropriate mechanism consistent with WV Lanka, Partnership and Regional Policies, Guidelines and Objectives. The role will provide critical support to the National Director in strengthening his/her ability to engage all stakeholders effectively, and will support all other key ministry areas for effective program implementation and enhance quality of ministry. He / She will provide leadership in enhancing WV Lanka’s public visibility, reputation and brand name recognition.
Key Result Area
Strategic Alignment: Communicates, and aligns WVL Corporate Partnerships, Innovation & Public Engagement strategy within the framework of national strategy of WV Lanka and Partnership strategy.
Leadership: Strong leadership which creates an environment orientated to trust, open communication, creative thinking & cohesive team effort despite internal and external pressures.
Functional Integration: Strong Integration with other functions within WV Lanka and partnership.
Critical Thinking and Judgment: Uses data, experience, and good judgment to make sound decisions and devise effective solutions to problems. Assesses and manages risk in own work.
Preferred Education, Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Degree or equivalent qualification in International Development, Economics, Business or any related field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in portfolio management/business development and related experience preferably in a INGO/Bilateral Agency
Proven experience in a leadership/management position in a complex, international organisation preferably in INGO context preferred
Demonstrated prior success in grant submissions inclusive of engagement with corporate partners
Experience working with Govt/Institutions partners, gained through a consulting company, international or community development agencies in the development sector
Good communication & presentation skills in English & the ability to communicate in Sinhala and/or Tamil.
Ability to think strategically and innovatively, constantly pursuing new and better ways of working
Demonstrated commitment to World Vision’s values and philosophy, and capacity to engage with the broader community in living these values
