We are currently looking for dynamic & creative individuals to join the World Vision Lanka (WVL) Senior Leadership Team (SLT)in our journey of caring.
DIRECTOR – GRANTS ACQUISITION
Location: To be based in Colombo with travel
The position will provide leadership in raising the profile of the WV Lanka as a leading NGO in raising concerns on child focused issues through policy advocacy and communication that will bridge both support offices and communities. It aims to raise the image of WV Lanka as a leading NGO in eradicating poverty in Sri Lanka through collaborative effort with the government and other civil society groups . He/she will work in hand with field operations to raise awareness in facilitating grassroots campaign against unjust practices and structures. This position will be responsible for providing leadership in Grants Acquisition & will help diversify and strengthen WV Sri Lanka’s funding sources to achieve its strategic targets, strengthen its impact and achieve its vision. This role will actively support the National Director in cultivating WV Lanka’s Christian identity and corporate culture of prayer, commitment and community.
The Grants Acquisition Group brings together several key support functions, and includes, External Relations with Corporates, Government and the Non-Government sector. As part of the Senior Management Team, the Group Director for Grants Acquisition will develop appropriate mechanism consistent with WV Lanka, Partnership and Regional Policies, Guidelines and Objectives. The role will provide critical support to the National Director in strengthening his/her ability to engage all stakeholders effectively, and will support all other key ministry areas for effective program implementation and enhance quality of ministry. He / She will provide leadership in enhancing WV Lanka’s public visibility, reputation and brand name recognition.
Preferred Education, Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Master’s in Business Economics, Development, Non-profit Management or equivalent,with a minimum of 5 years’experience in portfolio management/business development and related experience preferably in a INGO/Bilateral Donor Agency
Proven ability in the preparation of high quality project and programme design documents, Consultancy Terms of Reference, bid submissions/tender responses and project reporting
Proven experience in a leadership/management position in a complex, international organisation preferably in INGO context preferred
Demonstrated prior success in grant submissions inclusive of engagement with corporate partners
Experience working with Govt/Institutions partners, gained through a consulting company, international or community development agencies in the development sector
Excellent communication & presentation skills in English both verbal & written is essential for the position
Developed people in a cross-cultural setting and initiated and implemented organizational change at leadership level
Demonstrated commitment to World Vision’s values and philosophy, and capacity to engage with the broader community in living these values
