PROJECT COORDINATOR–Empowering Children as Peace Builders (ECaP)
Location: Based in Trincomalee South with travel as required
World Vision Lanka (WVL) seeks to recruit a project coordinator to manage and implementing its ECaP project which seeks to “Empower Children as Peace builders”(ECaP) ) in the given areas of operation The Project Coordinator will coordinate, implement, manage and report all project activities under the direction and guidance of the Area Progra Manager and technical specialist in line with the grant requirements and World Vision Lanka Policies & Procedures. The position requires individuals with experience in implementing conflict resolutions/peace & conflict & related issues in the given area. In addition he/she will:
Coordinate, Implement & manage all project activities in line with the requirements
Identify & assess potential interventions with a view for sustainable transformation at community level
Maintain good working relationships with all stakeholders/implementing partners –including Government, INGO’s, Community Based Organisations & the local communities
Prepare progress reports as and when required
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Academic background in social sciences/human rights/community development or related field(BSc/Diploma/Degree)
3 years’field experience in peace building/conflict resolution or related setting with proven ability in project management and effective program delivery
Having prior experience & knowledge handling EU projects in a similar context would be an added advantage.
Demonstrated skill in interagency collaboration & cross cultural communications
Good communication skills in English both oral & written and working knowledge of Sinhalese and/or Tamil.
Good facilitation/ training skills
Good project liaison & reporting skills
Should have a valid motorbike license & willing to travel across project locations in the area
