Zonal Sourcing Coordinator –(05 Vacancies in 05 Zones)
Locations: (Northern Zone- Jaffna, Eastern Zone- Batticaloa OR Trinco South, UVA Zone- Meegahakiula, North Western Zone- Rideegama , Central Zone–Walapane OR Ganga Ihala Korale(GIK) ) with 20% travel
This position is responsible for the delivery and execution of zonal sourcing process on all requisitions for goods and services across all assigned categories and to ensure general purchases and supplier relationships are implemented in line with WVL Procurement Policies.
This position will also research and evaluate requests based on price, service, quality and warranty and other applicable criteria to meet the needs of the internal customers. He/She will also verify available funds and appropriateness of budget codes in accordance with procurement policy.
This role will also primarily support the Zonal Strategic Sourcing Specialist to carry out his/her respective activities in a timely manner while ensuring quality procurement services.
Value for money obtained through procurement process finalization and consolidation. Availability of well-defined and specified procurement requirements
Reviews requisitions and ensures accuracy of terminology and specifications in same.
Ensure submission of Purchase Requests by requestors in a timely manner;
Ensure that each procurement matters are initiated with comprehensive and duly approved Purchase Requisitions;
Ensure competent and quality execution and monitoring of all regular purchasing duties;
Source suppliers of materials, equipment or supplies, and determine product availability and terms of sales;
Maintain complete and updated Supply Data such as purchasing records and pricing;
Coordinate with user departments and suppliers in the purchasing scope of work for projects assigned;
Carry out supplier visits and maintain a high level professional relationship with suppliers as well as a strong partnership with internal customers.
Efficient Source to Pay process is ensured.
Prepares, coordinates and conducts negotiations with suppliers to achieve business objectives;
Recommends the best bid/offer amongst potential suppliers;
Signs Long Term Agreements with potential suppliers;
Prepares and processes Purchase Orders and documents in accordance with WV Policies and Procedures;
Handles and monitors claims to factories and vendors for defects, shortages and missing parts; Coordinates with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery;
Ensure that suppliers/vendors are paid in a timely manner against the right quantity received by WV
Good Governance: Documentation, Monitoring and Controls in place
Coordinates purchasing details with requestor and logistics, including pricing revisions, order cancellation and invoice discrepancies;
Conducts supplier pre-qualification process;
Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to WV policy;
Resolves problems and issues arising from purchase of services, supplies and equipment;
Coordinates with SSC for routine business requirements (e.g. Document disputes, Compliance Related Issues, Master Data Maintenance)
Archives hard copies of contracts and other documents and coordinates matters with SSC
Monitors contract duration and supplier performance against contract terms & conditions

Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or any related field
At least Two (2) years’experience in a similar role where a variety of general and specialized items were procured.
Thorough understanding of local taxation laws & basic accounting knowledge
Strong skills in communication, multi –tasking and problem solving.
Good computer skills including thorough working knowledge on word processing and spreadsheet tools.
Knowledge on shipping of goods & related functionalities
Familiarity with modern purchasing methods, procedures and specifications preparation; methods and techniques utilized in analyzing the quality of services, supplies, and equipment; sources of purchasing information; budgets and revenue control.
Good writing and oral skills in English and Sinhala and/or Tamil.
A Team player with good interpersonal skills & able to work well with diverse stakeholders.
Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision in a cross-cultural work environment
Willing to travel domestically upto 20% of time
