Advocacy & Child Protection Coordinator

International Role - No - Only National applicants will be considered.

Purpose of the position:

Provide support to shape and strengthen WV Swaziland policy and advocacy agenda geared towards influencing public policy, lead on strategies relating to rights, citizens empowerment and governance.

Build strategic linkages with government, civil society organizations, traditional and community leadership and other partners. Promote Protection and participation Rights of children in communities, within WV and national level, and coordinate capacity building for staff in advocacy related issues and coordinate researches for evidence based advocacy and generally make WV Swaziland a partner of choice with government and other partners on Child Rights and other issues related to social justice. Communicate World Vision's Christian ethos and demonstrate a quality of spiritual life that is an example to others.

Major Responsibilities:


Key Outputs/Responsibilities


Articulate WV Swaziland’s ‘voice’ and social justice position in the public/ policy arena with government, Parliamentarians, donor community, traditional leaders and CSOs.


Ensure WV Swaziland participation in the national advocacy related forums and input into high level in the decision making process of issues related to social justice.


Lead the empowerment process of communities to influence the quality, efficiency and accountability of public services.


Facilitate integration of advocacy related issues in programming. Plan, coordinate, implement, monitor advocacy activities on a daily basis.


Facilitate Advocacy research to generate evidences to increase WV engagement in public policy and advocacy process.


Facilitate WV’s participation in campaigns and initiatives for enactment of legislation / law reforms/ policy reviews related to Child wellbeing and gender equity.


Promote Children’s participation and input into key decision making process.


Promote protection of children from any kind of abuse and Violence.


Facilitate staff capacity building in advocacy.


Raise resources for advocacy campaigns/ initiatives.

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

  • Degree in Law, political science, international relation, public administration or community development preferred

  • Experience in working within the civil society organizations, community and faith based organizations

  • Experience in engaging governments and working in policy environment

  • Familiarity with Child Rights dynamics

  • Experience in conducting policy oriented research

  • Minimum of three (5) Years work experience

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment: Office-based with frequent travel to the field

  • Work in formal and informal context
