Purpose of the position:
The Field Officer will be responsible to implement and coordinate the Somntongo Nutrition project activities in specified geographical area, liaise with stakeholders and supervise rural health motivators. Communicate World Vision's Christian ethos and demonstrate a quality of spiritual life that is an example to others
Enrol and engage pregnant and lactating women to provide counselling on maternal, newborn and infant’s nutrition and related MNeCHN issues.
Train RHMs on maternal newborn and child health and nutrition as well as WASH
Facilitate food preparation demonstrations to build capacity of mothers and caregivers on using locally available foods to ensure adequate nutrition for pregnant mothers and infants
Facilitate growth monitoring and nutritional assessment for children under five years and document
Conduct community sensitization on appropriate nutrition for children under five years, pregnant and lactating women
Carry out support and monitoring field visits to staff, volunteers and partners
Monitor project outputs to ensure that targets are met and give routine feedback to project staff
Conduct data quality checks in collaboration with the project staff
Coordinate all assessments, research and evaluations related to the project
Attend ME stakeholder meetings at regional level to support new initiatives by both the partnership and stakeholders on M&E.

Manage all data collected from routine monitoring and surveys to ensure accuracy to influence quality programming.

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
BSC food science or consumer science, a Bachelor degree in Health is an added advantage
A certificate in social work and welfare, community development, HIV & AIDs Management, psychosocial support or related field
20 - 35 years old
Must reside in the same community/chiefdom where the project is being implemented
At least 3-5 years’ experience in working in HIV related field or with youth, adolescents, and communities.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
Experience and good facilitation skills especially in HIV prevention and treatment literacy workshops at community level
Previous exposure to working with children and youth mentoring, leadership, lay counselling and sexuality training programs would be an added advantage
Experience in nutrition programming
Experience in working in WVS an added advantage
Experience in working with communities will be an added advantage
Computer literacy and proficiency in MS package
Good planning and organizational skills
Ability to maintain working relationships with staff and other stakeholders
Experience in community engagement and programming
Experience in project management
Experience in report writing (management and donor reports)
Mobile data collection an added advantage
Working Environment / Conditions:
Work environment: Office-based with travel to the field
Travel: travel domestically up to 80 % of the time.
