Commodities Coordinator

Job Description

Purpose of the position:

To develop innovative and create means of promoting the Gift in kind Ministry in the national office as well as the APs, Grant and other Projects. Thus positioning Gift –in – Kind as a strategic and well integrated resource which should contribute to the achievement of our child wellbeing aspirations within APs and other programs.

Maintain and Link up with World Vision GIK Global Group Procurement/Support Offices on behalf of the National Office GIK needs


Develop and ensure that the Swaziland Office GIK Policy is well understood and adhere to by all staff.


Ensure that established GIK Supply Chain Management System is strictly adhered to at all times.


Facilitate the preparation of the National Office GIK fiscal year planning for submission to Support Offices.


Facilitate the distribution of GIK received with the help of the GIK Technical Committee; ensure that it is distributed in the Strategic manner and shortest time possible - within six weeks of receipt.


Represent the National Office at seminars, meetings, Workshops/Conferences and participate in joint agency needs assessments/Task Force Teams.


Develop, initiate and implement plans and strategies for the GIK Programme and to develop marketable proposals to access GIK for the National Office.


Ensure adequate security and safety of all GIK commodities and consignments received.


Coordinate the receiving of all GIK items in the National Office and ensure that inventory is properly managed of all GIK delivered and received.


Facilitate preparation and submission of various GIK management and other reports such as monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and special reports.


Establish and manage MOUs with strategic partners.


Prepare and liaise with auditors and implement audit recommendation within a reasonable period ( WV Standard of 90 days)


Effectively manage the GIK Management unit staff.

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

  • Educational level required: Degree holder, preferable, Degree in CIPS or Management studies or Development studies Degree, Bachelor of Commerce,

  • Technical Training qualifications required: Professional technical skill desired - management or supervisory , Inventory and Logistics management.

  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in Non Food and Food programming, and supply Chain management field

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment: Office-based with frequent travel to the field

  • Travel: 30% Domestic , 2 % International travel is required

  • Office: 68%

  • On call: 24 hours
