Cluster Accountant- Korogwe Tanga

Job Description

To facilitate accurate and timely entry of accounting information, prepare cluster disbursements and financial reports for good corporate financial management within a cluster.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Process all Cluster disbursements within the approved control system existing and budget and perform weekly posting of data into Sun- Systems.

  • Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register for cluster assets, Perform assets inventory at least twice a year, ensure all assets are tagged.

  • Administration support; Manage cluster store (periodic stock taking, consumption reports and maintenance of store ledgers) as per WV standards and guidelines. Participate in both GC, external and internal auditing, conduct capacity building to the staff at the cluster level.

  • Perform accounts allocation for all balance sheet items including individual advance accounts on weekly basis.

  • Prepares Projects FFR with complete attachments, and ensure signed copies are filed including Donor reports as per Donor requirements.

  • Coordinate and consolidate project funding request in line with cash flows (ADP, PNS and Grants) for timely submission and ensure that the acceptable target low cash is maintained throughout the year.

  • Handle petty cash float of the cluster, ensure all payments are properly approved with relevant support backups, cash reimbursements is done timely; all cash collections are recorded and timely deposited in the bank as per WV financial policy.

  • Ensure staff LDRs are properly filled on monthly basis within a cluster and reconcile with the staff payroll as per LRD policy

  • Any other duty to be assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

  • Minimum Qualification required: : Bachelor Degree in Accountancy or related fields

  • Experience: 2 years

  • Preferred: ACCA, CPA

  • Technical Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent computer skills in Excel, Word & Sun-systems software.

  • Demonstrated ability in supervision

  • Good planning and organizational skills

  • Tact and diplomacy in dealing with staff-related to work environment needs

  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment: Field work

  • Travel: 20% Domestic travel is required.

  • On call: 10%
