PURPOSE OF POSITION

World Vision is seeking Humanitarian Partnerships manager to coordinate World Vision’s North West Syria team engagement with a range of humanitarian stakeholders on local and national levels, as well as engaging with partners in Gaziantep. This role will be key in maintaining key relationships with Humanitarian stakeholders on XB programming and supporting the mobilisation of resources to ensure sustainability of our programming.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Major Activities

Humanitarian stakeholder management

External engagement

  • Manage and nurture key relationships with pre-identified and new XB stakeholders, in liaison with NWS AM and Turkey HOO where appropriate

  • Establish contacts and follow up with all key stakeholders, relevant to the World Vision’s work for issues relating to registration, work permits and other regulations for NGOs working XB into NWS

Advocacy

  • Support stakeholder mapping to support the development of relationships with key personnel that will support advocacy, as well as enhance the profile and operations of World Vision in Turkey.

  • Provide data, briefings and other materials to support advocacy initiatives relating to World Vision programming XB in Syria, including inputs to advocacy activities with key donors, governmental and UN actors at the local, regional and global level.

  • Maintain appropriate records of World Vision advocacy and government engagement activities.

Networking and Representation

  • Assist World Vision senior leadership in ensuring that the office is engaged in important World Vision regional and international advocacy and communications initiatives.

  • Represent World Vision at relevant internal and external meetings and events, as needed.

Partnership management

Overall leadership

  • Provide leadership for overall Partner management ensuring compliance to humanitarian, organizational and donor standards in beneficiary identification, implementation plans, documentation, reporting and accountability.

  • Monitor monthly spending on ongoing & planned activities within the approved Budget/s.

  • Ensure that all documentation & filing system are in order.

  • Facilitate weekly/monthly staff and partner meetings.

  • Develop quarterly, semi and final reports.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Master Degree in Human Rights, International Relations, Journalism or related field preferred

  • Or, at least 5 years of progressive work experience in an international NGO, United Nations Agency, public administration, relevant Government institutions or line Ministries

  • Good understanding of the role of the UN, its agencies and ways of working

  • Good understanding of the role of iNGOs and nNGOs and their ways of working

  • Good understanding of the international media landscape

  • Excellent writing, research, policy analysis and report writing skills

  • Experienced in external engagement/lobbying (UN Agencies, Government)

  • Experience managing staff

  • Experience in content gathering including capturing photographs, videos and interviewing.

  • Experiences in networking and building coalitions

  • Fluent in oral and written English, with skills in Arabic and/or Turkish highly desired

  • Only Turkish nationals will be considered for this role.

  • This role will be based in the World Vision office in Gaziantep, Turkey. There will be regular travel within Turkey, as well as to the Syria country office in Amman. Travel within the region and globally to attend meetings, training and for other reasons may also be required.
