Position: Field Monitor
Report to: Agriculture Officer/Field Engineer
Location: Kaabong Field Office
Purpose of the position:
Responsible for community and beneficiary mobilization and sensitization of the project goal and objectives; To provide end user monitoring, supervision of food/cash/voucher distribution, Public Works Projects (PWP) and Household Income Support Projects (HISP); and prepare periodic documentation and reports of all activities undertaken in the field by World Vision Uganda.
Community mobilization and sensitization in relation to beneficiary selection and election of Project Management Committee (PMC) members and food/cash/voucher distributions.
Conduct PRA exercise to identify community problems, solutions and sub-project which the community can implement under the NUSAF 2 Project.
Ensure the process of project identification is properly documented using relevant WVI FFW forms.
Develop sub-project design documents and budgets using WFP provided formats and get consensus from the parish and sub-county leaders and community.
Supervise the Parish Team Leaders (PTLs) and Community Mobilizers (CM) working under their respective Sub-counties.
Train and guide the PMCs and CMs on food/cash/voucher distributions and conditional work activities (i.e. PWP and HISP) and management of inputs distributed.
Work with the PTLs/CMs to ensure that distribution of project inputs is well managed and documented.
Ensure sub-project implementation is coordinated with Parish and Sub-County Development Committees, District technical units and other NGOs implementing similar work in the communities for leveraging of resources, sustainability and complementarily.
Conduct continuous site monitoring visits to check progress of sub-project implementation.
Work with Agriculture Officer with support of the Project Coordinator to organize periodic site monitoring visit for Parish, Sub-County and District staff.
Conduct on-site training of PTLs, CMs and project participants on various aspects of sub-project implementation.
Organize with District technical staff to conduct on-site training of PTLs, CMs, and project participants on various aspects of the sub-project implementation.
Filing of project documents and reporting.
Ensure that the FFA/W forms are properly filled
Submit weekly activity reports to the Agriculture Officer
Document lessons learnt and best practices
Document success stories relating to various sub projects
Attend daily devotions in accordance with WVU Human Resource policies
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
A minimum of a Diploma in Vocational skills, Agriculture or related discipline with hands experience in food for work, cash or voucher implementation modalities.
At least one year’s field experience in Food/voucher/cash distribution.
Good mobilization and training skills.
Ability to perform field assignments with minimal supervision.
Ability to document lessons learnt to inform future programming as well as writing project implementation progress reports depicting actual work verses distributions
Willingness to travel for long period of time in difficult terrain, harsh and demanding conditions.
Be willing to live and work in very difficult and security-risk areas.
You must be able to ride a Motor Cycle with a clean riders permit-class A
Computer literate - Good command and knowledge of Ms Excel, Word and PowerPoint and Lotus Notes is essential.
Attend and participate/lead in daily devotions and weekly Chapel services.
