Position: Family Planning Officers (2) – HIWA Project
Report to: Program Management Specialist – MNCH, Nutrition & Small Groups.
Location: Central Region - Kampala (1) and Western Region (1)
Purpose of the position:
Reporting to the Program Management Specialist-MNCH, Nutrition & Small groups, the Officer will strengthen the implementation of Family health services at the USAID/HIWA supported health facilities in collaboration with the regional coordinators and the health facility staff.
To oversee the implementation and scale up of Community based family planning program in the USAID HIWA supported communities in UPF, PSG, UWA and Hotels
To ensure the MNCH services are provided in accordance to MOH standards and protocols at the selected health facilities
To provide continuous medical education of MNCH and family planning to the service providers at the selected facilities
To implement strategies for improving male involvement and adolescents in SRH programs at selected health facilities and communities
To improve documentation and reporting of MNCH and family planning activities at facility level for program evaluation and planning
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
A diploma or degree in midwifery, comprehensive nursing and or nursing.
At least two years’ experience in service delivery and health system strengthening for family health services
Training in Sayana press and Implanon NXT is an added advantage
Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages for report writing and presentation
Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work well with others and to develop and maintain relationships
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
Ability to train and mentor others.
Ability to multi-task
