Hygiene and Sanitation Assistant Koboko

Job Description

Position: Hygiene and Sanitation Assistant (2 Positions)

Report to: Hygiene and Sanitation Officer

Location: Arua and Koboko District

Purpose of the position:

To support the coordination of divisional documentation, logistics, work plans and reporting.

Major Responsibilities

Customer care

  • Screening telephone calls, enquiries and requests and handling them when appropriate;

  • Take and relay accurate and timely messages from telephone callers, and answer queries where possible;

  • Management and coordination of visitors.


  • Preparing divisional monthly reports;

  • Coordinating the development of divisional quarterly work plans;

  • Managing the filling system and Divisional library and record control of key documents in the division which include divisional reports and work plans etc.

  • Providing information and advice to staff on administrative processes, procedures and requirements.

Logistics and administration

  • Coordinating and providing logistical support to the staff when planning conferences and workshops both at local and International levels;

  • Analyzing and coordinating logistical requirements for the Division and on a regular basis for good coordination;

  • Maintaining supplies/logistics inventory and preparing requisitions for office supplies and equipment;

  • Taking, preparing minutes of meetings and distributing them to members within 7 days after the meeting;

  • Coordinating travel plans within and out of the country for the staff in the Division and Providing weekly schedules indicating who is travelling and documenting location/travel schedules;

  • Maintaining the divisional director diary and fixing appointments.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must possess a University degree in any Development Studies or an equivalent

  • Must have basic knowledge in computer applications like MS Office and data base management

  • Knowledge in logistical operations

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Abilities in office administration and organization.

  • Should be accurate and organized at work.
