PURPOSE OF POSITION:
As part of the Research Team, the Advocacy Advisor, External Trends will provide ongoing and responsive analysis of external trends, political and policy developments, debates and actions that impact the ability of the Advocacy & External Engagement (A&EE) team to achieve its overall objectives. The Advisor will focus on themes and developments most relevant to the core focus of the A&EE team, but also in support of analysis for Senior Leaders and the EE Advisory Group.
Analysis of external trends, political and policy developments, debates and actions that impact the ability of the A&EE team to achieve its overall objectives.
Produce regular reports for Senior Leaders, A&EE team members and EE Advisory Group teams.
Share External trends analysis with select partners and coalitions.
Develop external trends analysis and reports for specific events/forums.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Bachelor Degree in field related to international development, political science, communications, etc.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in government relations/external engagement, child rights, human rights, communication or any other specific field relevant to World Vision’s work.
Strong experience and skills in research and analysis.
Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Fluency in English. Other languages an asset.
The position requires ability and willingness to travel internationally 5-10% of the time.
