The Chief Strategy, Impact & Services (SIS) Officer of VisionFund International (VFI) is a newly created role responsible for developing and enabling the delivery of VisionFund’s strategy, and providing leadership for Products, Technology and Operations Services. This role is part of the VFI’s Senior Leadership and integrates Strategy, Impact and Services. As well the role is responsible for leading the continuous enhancement of our operating structure to drive efficiency across the Network. The new role is one of significant breadth and influence, combining strategic thinking and leadership and effective operational co-ordination. The CSISO will prioritise strategy execution to achieve impact at scale, and identify and deliver distinctive capabilities to ensure we create tomorrow’s distinctive impact engine to meet the needs of millions of vulnerable households.



  • To shape the VisionFund Network and Impact Engine of the future through strategy development, resource allocation and strategy execution. Help enable and deliver faster, better decisions that realise impact and realise strategic benefits across the Network. Develop better execution capabilities through the prioritization of strategy, key strategic initiatives, technology, and business processes and support services to enable high performing teams.

  • This position will provide leadership and act as a key focal point for the 2030 strategy adoption and alignment across VisionFund to maximise impact for vulnerable children, families and communities.

  • Develop a coherent strategy ensuring VisionFund builds fully aligned internal capabilities and the right external focus to deliver differentiating impact.

  • Build VisionFund’s Strategy Realisation Office and Project Management capability and capacity.

  • Operationalise and ensure ongoing application of an efficient framework for strategic initiatives implementation, governance and reporting, and the coordination of all entities’ efforts.

  • Ensure ongoing change management and strategic priorities drives resource allocation that can deliver increased impact and target benefits, in collaboration with Finance and entities.

  • Enable improved business process optimisation through intentional collaboration with World Vision, VisionFunds’ Regional Leadership, Development and Marketing, Finance, and People, Culture & Governance.

  • Increase impact through innovation in core products and process innovation;

  • Identify and hire strong talent and contributing to the organisation’s Talent agenda.

Global Services:

  • Lead Organisational Effectiveness and Agility by ensuring strategic, responsive and coordinated provision of global services to the VisionFund Network through a range of teams: Impact and Insights, Insurance, Products, Innovation & Partnerships, Strategic Advisory & Research, and Technology & Operations.

  • Design and roll out a global services and support plan to the Network on an annual basis; and lead major Network-wide projects.

  • Develop and support the deployment of global product and service offerings that facilitate the realisation of our strategy.

  • Deliver simple, efficient, innovative and secure technology & operations services to the Network that brings alignment of operational capabilities and responsibilities, mitigates operational risk, and increases efficiency.

  • Develop and leverage centres of excellence that drive operational excellence and deliver excellent client experience to create clear distinctives for VisionFund and value for clients.

  • Identify emerging landscapes, develop aspirational futures and scenarios that guide strategic decision-making based on data insights, research and internal consulting strategies.

  • Deliver high quality execution, planning and reporting in order to advise the President’s Office and VisionFund International’s Board of Directors.

  • Foster an organizational culture of Performance, Operational Excellence and Accountability based on VisionFund/World Vision Core Values, vision and mission.

  • Team Leadership and Staff Development:

  • Inspire and align leaders of the various teams and influence the performance of the same.

  • Manage the performance of full-time direct reports.

  • Nurture the spiritual and professional development of direct reports and team members.

  • Instill and encourage a strong servant and service orientation in leaders and their teams

  • Provide performance feedback and coaching to direct reports during the year and hold annual performance review and career development conversations.



  • MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.

  • 10+ years of service in senior Strategic Leadership/Operations/Financial Services/Technology roles, preferably in a multinational corporation or organization.

  • Consulting experience a big plus.

  • Extensive experience in financial services, development finance, microfinance and understanding of economic development.

  • Able to think strategically and experience of managing teams.

  • Self-motivated and results oriented.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills in both oral and written forms.

  • Comfortable working and influencing across boundaries in a complex, international, decentralized organization, and a strong collaborator.

  • Demonstrates a Christ-centred life and able to provide spiritual leadership within VFI.

  • Senior leadership experience in a complex, large organisation.

  • Wide international, cross-cultural and field experience.

  • Extensive experience of influencing executive decision makers in multiple disciplines.

  • Extensive experience of managing multiple budgets and plans at one time.

  • English- excellent; proficiency in other languages is preferred.


  • Competent project management capability/facility in order to better ensure others planning effectively.

  • Exposure to senior management, at Executive and Board level.

Work Environment:

  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.
